ok here we go....:2thumb:
I'm a anime fan to the 10th degree. All kinds not just one genre. I love anime period. What i don't like though is how all anime's seem to have at least a few things in common.
1. Main characters almost always survive the most impossible situations. Yes i understand what a main character is, but at the same time it's gets tiring. I'm tired of knowing the main character is going to come out the winner of something or never die when they should. I need a main character for once to not be to good to die.
2. Why don't anime's show the characters changing clothes? They wear the same clothes through out the whole season or maybe the whole show. Now i have seen some show's where they change clothes (card captor sakura) but for most of all anime they don't. I know the show's are not about fashion and the like but i would like to see a change for once.
3. Most action genre anime has limited fighting moves. The characters have that 1 or 2 special move and they use it for the whole show. For example: Yu Yu Hakusho, yusuke and the rest have their own specific move each which is just fine and dandy but they never use something new unless they die and come back more powerful or a new season comes in too play. I want a anime where its not a show of redundant moves and actions. :awesome:
hmm i know i could come up with more to rant about anime but i'm at a blank as of right now...so that's it. plz tell me if i missed anything :what:

lol everything you said it's from a typical shounen anime
but try reading more mangas, most of the times anime gets cutted off on budget and characters get less development than in mangas. While in manga, their creators can switch their clothing way more often since they aren't stuck with budget (and the workmonkeys that draw frame by frame). I've read a bunch where the characters change clothes often

The thing I hate most is how most anime these days involves students and school in some way. Students at school, or students as main characters with school being a part of the series... It's just ****ing sickening.
I can understand if the characters are students, but leave it at that and move on. I hate when it plays a large role, and going to classes or being on the school grounds is a recurring event. There are other places to be, be creative.
Older series that had school stuff was fine, mainly because back then it wasn't a trend. For example GTO. But since 2002-2004 onwards it's as if having a school in your anime is mandatory.

I agree. Im all for slice of life, but if the story isnt interesting enough to take it outside of school, then why try?

Seriously? Some of the anime I've watched have the main character dying at or near the end, or, seriously injured at some points. It was already said in this topic, but, what your complaining about is only very bad in shonen series...
For example... Spoilers by the way.
-The End of Evangelion might as well have been re-named the end of everything that moves. In the anime, everyone is messed up psychologically as well.
-Cowboy Bebop had the main character go out with a "bang". Spike survived some crazy stuff though.
-Zeta Gundam had almost the entire main cast killed off by the end, and the main character was a vegetable well into the successor series.

Yumeiro Pastrierre
Because it keeps repeating itself during class she fails a receipe they make fun of at night she masters it and so on she NEVER EVER once shows it in class and keeps failing the class I mean its stupid why keep repeating the same events OVER and OVER again! That's why I stopped watching it.
Onii-chan Zenzen dakura Ne
The plot is weird makes no sense and the art....is....too skinny and plain creepy.

But it's a fairly defining part of life, be it in a good or bad way, so I can understand why people would at one point for a while turn to it.
And I don't think there's anything bad about it, school gives enough opportunity for interesting stories and character development. Some of my favourite stories take place in school for a noticeable part, and none of them have suffered for it.
Du er ikke alene and
Kodomo no Jikan being prime examples of this.
Much unlike the ever same fantasy forest full of the ever same bandits and dragons trying to kill the ever same heroes.
Slightly exaggerated, of course. :pika_sneaky:
