And yet if they watch any of the videos about Italy or France in history, they'd have seen it.
Unless a kid researches post renaissance art on their own, I'm pretty sure schools don't allow kids to see the nono art in those documentaries.

Well, it's up to the mods and not me, so why take my post so seriously, eh? :p
And I have nothing against artistic nudity, but really, there should be a limit to who can view it just for the sake of age. It's not like most 12 year olds have been exposed to artistic nudity.
Honestly, it's the internet. If their parents didn't want them to see it, they wouldn't allow them on the internet. It's not our fault if they get exposed to it one way or another.
Trust me, I of all people respect parents wishes when it comes to exposing their children to nudity of any kind. But c'mon.. this is really ridiculous.

you guys seem to be deviating away from my point;
my point of leaving was not that i had to censor my dicks-- if you saw, i was perfectly willing to hide them at first because arsik was kind enough to, y'know, not be a douche about it.
then i saw that thread about masturbation which left me wondering what the hell the damn line between 'child-safe' and 'not-child-safe' is. i feel cheated because i have to censor myself but there's allowed an entire thread devoted to fappin' where people are asking one another very personal questions "how often do you get aroused, what hand do you use" and talking about other means of getting off. dude, if my kid was reading that i'd be totally grossed out and i wouldn't let them visit the site anymore, especially if they're too young to handle a drawn floppy weenie.
as earlier mentioned a spoiler tag would've been nice, but it's not here so i've got no reason to stay. anyway, i've got more pressing matters to deal with like art thievery and people trying to sell off commissioned creations of mine, so ciao. 8I

There's kids who are underage here. Would you rather have them have text about penis on their screen or pictures of penis on their screen while their parents look over their shoulders?

Believe me, I've seen a few artistic nudity pieces in my schools.
I don't know what schools you are talking about.

Why take yourself closer and closer to crossing the line than is necessary?
It all comes down to, like Moppy said, how the mods will have to deal with it.
What you guys are asking is for the mods to scour the forums looking for bad images, and then ****storms will be had when some people think their images weren't bad, but merely close, and bad feelings will be had all around, and much drama will go down.
It's just easier to keep it PG-13.

Again, if the kids look at it, it's their own fault. They should be smart enough to click the little "x" at the top of the screen, no?

Because letting discussions about boobs, masturbation and virginity are WAYYYYY less PG-13 than pictures of the body. -___-

Easier because people are scared of what the government would do or easier because they don't want to deal with it?

I don't know what the hell type of school you're in. Unless you're in an art appreciation class or in a grade above 8 or so, you most likely most be exposed to artistic nudity. If you were shown any renaissance art in the 6th grade or something, I'm sure any responsible parent or guardian would flip an ape****.

And yet they're discussing about how many times/when they start/etc etc is allowed? And that thread has well over a couple hundred views, so please tell me again, why?
We obviously want everyone to do what they please and have fun on the forums. This originally was started as just a Mabi fansite and has deviated to a site about news and random ****. But however, this is still a Mabi fansite and people do come here seeking MMO help, not penises and boobs. We want people to feel as comfortable as possible while allowing as much freedom as possible. You may say that people might feel uncomfortable by the masturbation thread but I'm pretty sure we've received no backlash at all from community members. If we did, then we would obviously question whether or not we should allow such discussions. And as I said earlier, we don't want to just assume that because people will talk about masturbation that they will be okay with nudity on the forums. We are still finding our footing for where to stop with discussions, we don't need to do that with pictures at the same time. Also, when do you stop calling something artistic and start calling it porn? Not that I'm stating all nudity is dirty but it's just that restrictions need to be decided upon. We don't want to just allow something and then have to take it away.

'nono art?' seriously? i'm pretty sure even school systems (including the pretty ****ty one i went through) is run by more mature individuals than the moderation for this site.
besides, health classes are required nowadays so even if there
aren't documentaries displaying them, there are health classes that do teach sexual health. ****, in my health class in.. sixth grade? we were shown slides of (floppy!) dicks with all sorts of diseases.
i, for one, would have been much less disturbed at seeing a healthy dick rather than one covered in boils, thanks.

Bottom line is,
nudity is not allowed.
Most minors on this forum would not want a picture of a nude person, artistic or not, on their screen as their parents walk by, you don't seem to be understanding that.

My school doesn't show nudity. At all.

MabiNation isn't the place for nudity, it's not the purpose of it, be it artistic, porn, or whatever else you can bring up, it's the rules, that's how it works, you agree to them when posting.
Like other staff said, you can just censor it, or post the link to DA, where they can simply choose to see it or not with their maturity filter.
The difference with having a discussion about masturbation is that a picture is explicit imagery, the discussion isn't.

It has nothing to do with the government and everything to do with the members.

Yep. There's a reason why there's a maturity filter on DA and there is one here, but it relies on the poster's judgement.
Nation = for mabi = minor = no nudity, even if they had been exposed to it already.
