I was just sitting there showing my friend something on my iPhone, when this girl throws a box at us, and it ends up hitting my iPhone. Anyway I just noticed a small crack where the vibrate switch is that I know wasn't there before.
I'm afraid of her doing some stupid crap like that again. If it did break what should I do? And, does anyone have any reccomended ways to protect it? As in cases? Also, does anyone know of a good screen protector? You can use tin foil to make a working stylus, but I don't want any permanant scratches.
...Girls are violent.

The pirate-y thing to do is kick her in the mouth, laugh, then walk off into the sunset to sail a ship.
The normal thing to do is report it, if this was at school. If it was in some random public place, not much you can do.
I dunno about protecting iphones though, doing so would go against everything I believe in.

Sparta kick her in the face and tell her to shut the *** up.
From that one thread on guru.
haha, but how did that manage to happen? My dad uses some odd hard plastic case for his, but anything is better than leaving it naked.

The iPhone should be more durable then that ._.
I got a few cracks on my Ipod Touch and it still works like a charm.

It was in the courtyard area. Technically not on school grounds but it was still in the same complex. Apperently if I remember correctly there is some stupid no devices rule but it isn't enforced, but I actually have some schoolwork that is only saved on here (haven't taken it off yet) so I can say that she was going to mess up my schoolwork.

Wait... someone just randomly threw a box at you??? o_O I don't think you can prepare for something as random as that. Just live without the fear of another person throwing a box at you and breaking your iPhone, it's better than being paranoid o_o

Go for it o:
I suggest also taking pictures of the damage and showing them that first. If they try anything retarded like my highschool did (they took my CD player, yeah that's right, CD player. I'm old (but nto old enough for it to have been a tape player)) when I reported someone damaging it. If you have photos of it, and especially the receipt for having purchased it (photo copy it and bring it in too), they're pretty much stuck and have to do something about it, even if it's just a few stern words with her.

Main problem is that I bought it used from a friend of my dads, and this was his old iPhone. So I don't have a receipt. :(

Some pictures of it with your files on it should be fine, or just protect it real well.

In my school, a person who damages someone's personal belongings on campus can be suspended for a day. I think it was supposed to be intentionally damaging your belongings, though. Get those screen protectors that advertise on the TV or in malls. I forgot what it was called though.

I do want to get a screen protector. Apperently you can use tinfoil a stylus for it. As normal stylus don't work with the iPhone.

Unfortunately it depends on WHERE it happened.
School, for example, already specifically warns you not to bring expensive stuff because they won't be able to do anything for it.
You can still get back at her by saying she "assaulted you with a box". Which is 100% legit.
Also, iPhones suck, your fault having such an overpriced phone. Put a protection cover over things like that.

If you really loved your iPhone you would have thrown yourself in the way of the box to protect it.
