You should be able to just sync it. Just don't update it.

If you wanna add more songs, those will get deleted I'm pretty sure... Unless they are still on your computer. And yeah you can pack up iPod...

Does disconnecting your internet help stop it from updating?

Pretty sure you can disable updating it on iTunes. I have a jailbroken iPod and I don't update it.

Well the songs I don't mind but will it delete the pics?
I don't have backups and they're important to me. :/
I have this idea
since I store all of my pics on ifile I can just send it to the photos app and open them with explorer on my pc, right?

Alternatively, go pirate the latest version of winamp. The pro versions are ipod compatible.

Nope. Hasn't even prompted me to do anything of the sort before.

before, i used CopyTransManager. It looked safe enough owo;; and it worked perfectly fine, though its a little bit more of a hassle than itunes.

I don't actually know how it happened, by my iPod is synced with music from two different computers.
You could use a program like iPodFolders, install it on your computer that is currently synced, copy the whole folder onto another a flash drive or a disk for safekeeping, install the same program on the second computer, then sync up your iPod with the second computer, if it wipes what you already synced on it, just take the backup you made on the first computer, and merge it with your new one [via iPodFolders].
It should work...in theory, that is.

In iTunes you have to option of only syncing music with your computer. If you were to erase your stuff, the iPod will give you a warning before syncing so don't worry about accidentally losing anything. I used a iPod to computer transfer program to copy all the music onto my clean computer and then I made my iTunes library the same as before and added new music. Resynced the iPod and it copied on the new music.
