So as far as I know, this is possible, just wondering what shields it's possible on for sure. I'm suspecting round shield might be the only one, since I've tested on a light hetero and that didn't work. But I don't even know if it works on a round shield for sure.
Anyone know anything about this?

Last time this question was asked, I'm fairly sure the conclusion reached was something like "Shields are made of an ambiguous substance, despite having the words 'metal' or 'wooden' in the description."
Meaning enchants such as diamond, or wooden needle, would not work on them.
Though that could have changed since g9 update. @_@
But my guess is no...since I've yet to see one, and I don't want to waste any wn blades trying.

Hmm... well if no one knows for sure I guess I'll have to put some effort into figuring it out myself... I'll just have a plate cannon ready just in case it doesn't lol.
I figure the Careful/Adamant enchanted round shields from rabbie adv should be good for figuring it out. And the fact that it's listed on wiki for shield enchant sequences leads me to believe someone did it... tho of course there's no proof lol.

Yes, PM me if it works; I might consider enchanting wooden needle on a Giant's shield if it does work.

I've tried this myself and nah, it doesn't work.
Despite shields being made from something different, couragous can still go on them, I think couragous is metal items only too, but then diamond doesn't work so it's like wth?
Excuse the double post, I tried it on a kite and a real hetero and nada, could not enchant >:

What about Tikka shields? I feel like those are obviously wooden ;~;

"Wooden" Sheilds are changed in the blacksmithing process to a layered resin. They boil the logs in water and then work them into pliable sheets which they stretch across a form which can be metal or wood. Technically it is no longer wood. Wood resin maybe.

So has anyone for sure actually tried on a round shield? Cause I get the logic for the process of making it... just being hopeful lol. I mean, it's listed on wiki for enchant sequences, so that leads me to think it's at least worth testing.
But we've at least ruled out:
Kite
Light Hetero
Hetero
Wanna say it's safe to rule out beholder too, lmao.

round shield didn't work pre-g9 (tested with a careful round shield back then). i doubt it works now.

Ah.. I guess that was the sort of response I was looking for... tho some things do change over time. Like, darkness can only go on heavy armor as of g9, that kind of thing.
I suppose I'll still test it out of curiosity, but I won't keep my hopes up :x.

Where did you hear that? It's not true.
More people
found out that it CAN go on Heavy Armor around g9, and they're using that instead of the much better Ancient now, simply because it doesn't explode.
But Darkness is still best used on Light Armor.

According to the enchanters on this server, even if it was supposed to be able to go on heavy armors it was glitched prior to g9. I may be wrong but that was what I was told by multiple people.
And what do you mean instead of ancient...? You can do both at the same time, ancient is prefix and darkness is suffix. The combination is the best thing o.o Even so, what's
best wasn't the point, what's
possible is.

Sorry, I meant Avenger.
Avenger is a no-step suffix which gives a constant 12 Max (+8 more when pot poisoned and +10 crit when deadly). It's a
much better suffix for Heavy Armor. Darkness is only 5-15 variable damage, and you lose 3 defense which kind of destroys the purpose of using heavy armor.
While you don't have to settle for the best, I don't see why you'd go through the hassle of step enchanting a more expensive and less potent enchant. Exploding is the only reason, but most people I've seen have been using Light Melkas which come as cheap as possible.
Ruairi enchanters say that Darkness has been enabled before g9 as well, at least that's what I've been told.

Darkness was possible before G9, LKIM on Tarlach made his Dustin and Tioz Darknessm I'm 100% sure of it.

Oh, avenger speaks for itself.
Well, I'll just have to take your word for that then, not like we're gonna go back to pre-g9 and test it lol.
So I guess what I really wanna discover is why exactly it's on the
list of wiki enchant sequences for shields if it's never been done.
So I suppose I'll test for current data myself... in which case I'll go all out... test every shield I have reasonable access to. But I'm not gonna go say wiki is wrong and edit it without proof of otherwise. Cause I recognize that it's entirely possible that it being there was someone's assumption.
So I guess my new question is, what have people tested since g9?
...gah this is gonna take so many rabbie adv runs lmao.
