  Also... Code Geass is epic... But it's 50 episodes long.

  Toradora:
  Romance/slice of life/comedy type thing.
  It's really really sweet, especially if you like tsundere girls. Masterpiece of its genre, definitely.
  
  Angel Beats:
  I don't even know what category this is in. It has a great storyline about the afterlife, also it has great music.
  
  K-ON! (season 1 & 2):
  Music/moe moe based. Full of cute things and great songs :U
  
  NANA:
  Yes, definitely. It's a big long.. but... well, it has an amazing storyline and characters. Also the music is great, too. (bands in there)
  
  Durarara:
  Not one of my absolute favourites, but it's up there somewhere. Gangs and city life etc.
  
  D Gray Man:
  Very long anime. Pretty much no romance. One of my favourites (as long as it took to finish >_>) Continues in the manga.
  
  Vampire Knight:
  I found it pretty good, I liked the art, but a lot of people hated the ending, although it continues in the manga.
  
  Working!!:
  Art is similar to toradora. It's pretty cute, romance isn't very good.
  
  Kimi ni todoke:
  Shoujo that some people like. I thought it was repetitive throughout the middle...

  Don't watch Tokyo Mew Mew. Please. It was a huuuge fad. In grade 3, that is.

  Also Special A. Loved that one. Art was kinda weird to begin with, but the romaaaance makes up for it.

  no one's recommended gurren lagann yet? I am disappoint, one of my favourites of all time.
  
  samurai champloo is also one of those. FLCL was fun too, and the dub is great. Cowboy Bebop is a classic thats a must watch too.
  
  my memory is kinda bad but, hopefully ull like those. im more of a manga person myself..

  The whole series is 12 episodes long. But its the best 12 episodes of anime ever imo. Each episode is worth more than 100 episodes of crappy maintstream shounen (bleach,naruto,onepiece).
  
  Also this series: It has a stupid name and it's 1 episode. But definitely worth watching
