Thank you for your wise input. There is, however, one main difference between calling Another World "TNN" and calling facial tissues "Kleenex"; Kleenex is a brand of facial tissues, so it relates to it, while Another World is a devastated world that has no resemblance to Tir Na Nog. It might look like it, but it is a dead world. The only life that can be found there are Dingos and worms, while Tir Na Nog, being Erinn, is full of life. So really, there's no comparison between your examples and Another World being called TNN.
If no one tries to change something, then who will?

IMO, there's nothing wrong with calling Another World "TNN" if everybody knows what you're referring to.
:P

Yes, there's no problem with that, however, there are people who think that TNN is Another World. I've seen enough discussions in Nexon forum (while searching for answers) in order to guarantee that there are people who think that TNN = Another World, and not Erinn. owo
Check out this link, Phigga:
IMO. Number two to be more specific. It cracked me up. XD

Quote from Bakuryu;492170:
There's two worlds
Erinn and Tir Na Nog. You start the game in Erinn, G1 consists in the search for the so called paradise, Tir Na Nog. The Other World is what is called TNN among the players, what you find when you cross the portal between worlds, is that that paradise is not really a paradise, because Eirinn IS actually the paradise (Tir Na Nog), the place that Erinn residents think isn't a paradise, is actually that place promised by Morrighan, that's what mr dragon on your screenshot is saying.
In Vindictus is the other way around, except they are right in thinking where they live is not Paradise. And they call Paradise Erinn.
It's a bit confusing, since everything is called differently in each game. By strictly following the Celtic mythology, Tir Na Nog is the actual name for Paradise, what is called Erinn in both Vindictus and Mabinogi. So in Mabinogi they have everything wrong, that's not the right name and it is paradise, while in Vindictus they just have the name wrong, and are aware that is Paradise. But, according to the mythology, Tir Na Nog is one of the other worlds. So calling The Other World, TNN, is correct and specifies which Other World, but looking at the bigger picture, TNN or that Other World, is "Erinn".
There are actually 3 Other Worlds in celtic mythology, Tir Na Nog, Mag Mell and Tir Na Mbeo. But those 3 could have actually all referred to the same place, which is another confusing part of the Celtic Mythology.
Oh, cool. Thanks for clearing that up for me.
Speaking of which, I wonder what happens to Lann, Fiona, Evie, Karok and Kai in the end? Aren't they suppose to play a major role in the story as war heroes or chosen ones or something?

I really don't think anyone gives a flying **** if TNN is Erinn and we have everything mixed up. People know TNN as Another World, and Erinn as Erinn. This isn't going to change. And responding to the "AW" is shorter than "TNN" actually doesn't make sense. People will have no idea what you are talking about, and the curious people will ask you what it is, then you will have to explain this entire thread, and the other person still won't care. Thus, putting in more effort when you wanted to put in less.
It doesn't matter if people know about this. It isn't essential. It won't give them AP, won't give them pro 1337 stats or EXP. It won't even give them an HP pot. So people don't and never will care.

First of all depending on where the person is in the storyline that place is "TNN" to them! So it would be a spoiler otherwise. I know alot of people go there for other reasons but i dont think calling it TNN really spoils anything where as calling it another world could.
Calling it TNN is fine with me because it just makes everything easier too.
I am all for storyline. I really enjoy the storyline but if we call it TNN or Another world isnt that big of a deal to me.

Good to see people actually about this enough to reply. :XD:
Most people who want to go to Another World are looking for a ride, which means that they know already about coupons and fliers and whatnot. The only people doing the story line are those that enter Another World by Barri dungeon. Those with the parties up "LF>Ride to TNN" are those that already finished G1 and are training Windmill, which means that they already heard from Cichol that Erinn was in fact Tir Na Nog.
For those that think that "AW" would never work, when I first saw someone saying "TNN" I didn't know what it was. With time I got used to it. This means that people could get used to calling it "AW" and those people that are too lazy to type "Another World" will be happier since they now only have to type two letters instead of 3; "AW > TNN".
There's also another thing: this is a fansite, no? Shouldn't fans care about the storyline, gameplay, community, etc, etc? Just saying ~
:awesome:

You don't actually learn that Erinn is the real Tir Na Nog until the end of G3, right before you fight Cromm Cruaich, who isn't the real Cromm Cruaich either. And yes, I'm one of the people who plays through every gen and watches every cut-scene. But basically, anyone who actually played through G3 without skipping the cutscenes knows that Another World is not Tir Na Nog, but it became the accepted community term do to the fact that everyone was already calling it that before G3 came out, and they probably kept doing so to avoid spoiling the big reveal of G3 for those who hadn't finished it yet. Now days, most people have already played through g3 or skipped it, but the term stuckj because people rarely change their habits.

Why does this topic feel like a waste of time? Debating names...really? Isn't already settled?
