He/she/it was part of a special group that had to be disbanded. The admin gave her a special token in remembrance of that group, sounds like a pretty valid reason to me. Why you people have to be so damn selfish? So if you can't have the cake no one else can?

Right, so uh... I figure we should probably talk about this.
My opinion is that random users that haven't done anything don't particularly deserve colored names. I don't even really like the idea of colored names from events. And if we do allow people to have colored names, it shouldn't be every color under the rainbow because people are going to get them confused with staff members. I don't even like the idea of giving any non-staff colored names to begin with, but... there at least needs to be boundaries if we do. Generally colored names are reserved for either forum staff or some sort of paid members that have donated to the site and they'd get colored names and some sort of other special benefits like larger sig/avs, more inbox space, etc.. Not saying that we should do that, but... I think that's what people come to expect. Giving seemingly random users colored names just looks like favoritism and makes us look bad. That and it's just confusing to our members, not knowing if someone is staff or not. If everyone non-staff has the same color of a name that has a different colored name from normal members, like a special user group, then people don't get confused. But random people, random colors... That's going to confuse people. I don't think we should do that.
As for ex-Event Helpers getting their old purple names... I don't agree with that either. They had purple names because they were Event Helpers. It was a staff position. But Event Helper is no longer a staff position and they no longer have a role nor any responsibilities on the forum. That's like an ex-mod keeping their mod colored name because they were a mod at one point. The only circumstance under which I'd agree with the Event Helpers getting their name colors back is if the rank itself were brought back and they were expected to pump out events. But that's it.

What are you talking about? She was never apart of the Event Helpers.
Also, I agree with the Staff on this one. I'm not even jealous of the whole thing, I could careless if I had a colored name or not. The whole problem with the situation is that Colored Names should be reserved for Staff/Event/No-Adsthinger. However, Osay just gave his reason as to why there are still icons about, so lets cool it.

This is true, but I hardly doubt I'm really favored by any of the staff. That being said-mmk no biggie. I do wish that purple was somehow able to be won/bought though.
Personally, I was more a fan of the hot pink/whatever color that The Loli had.
