I don't know what it's like where you live but I have yet to see even one person with that much makeup here, and I live in a really urban area and take 2 hours of transit every school day. You'd think I'd see a lot of people.
I like to observe what people wear/do/say on the bus, and I've see "too much makeup", but it's not even remotely CLOSE to what you're describing.
Also I'd like to point out that "too much makeup" doesn't just mean a thick cakey layer.. I've never seen that before.. that'd just mean the girl sucks at it, or buys crappy products. I doubt I even have enough to make wrinkles on my face with makeup. I don't even see how that's possible.
Have you seen any Michelle Phan videos or any other makeup gurus on youtube? That's what makeup is supposed to and intended to be like. Most of the time it's natural and enhances features instead of covering them.
Obviously if they're caking on their foundation you'd be able to tell, you'd have to be half blind not to.
But it's not just the fact that having too much makeup is physically unattractive, it's also the fact that a woman that puts on too much makeup doesn't have much self esteem, which is a turn off to a good number of men. Yes, makeup in moderation is nice, and as I said, can highlight and accentuate a woman's facial features, but when a woman feels she needs to wear makeup to be attractive, and can't leave the house without it, then (to me at least) is a large turnoff. A woman that feels confident in herself, no matter what she looks like is so much sexier than a woman that has to put on a face to be attractive, and then hides her real face when she no longer needs it.
