I don't know how many times that someone came up to me and say "Nice dress!" and get me ticked off over it. After that, I either get complimented, people begging to get my suit, or just insulting me for wearing it. Honestly, I think it's about the time that some people needs to learn a lesson.
This is NOT a Dress:

In the Asian Culture, there was Kimonos and males usually worn them for formal occasions. To be honest, I think Mabinogi North America needs a course into Japanese/Chinese/Korean Culture to understand that these aren't EXACTLY dresses. Yet, the stupidity increases daily in life and cannot get that through people's heads.
Edit: I actually forgot the name of the formal suit in real life; however, it's not a dress.

People in America simply are ignorant of other cultures or don't take the time to actually try and learn them. Sad really.

More like those are just kids that don't even know what a kimono is.
Next: Nice toga!

Yea, not really about Mabi at all. Sure, it may be about an outfit in the game, but it's not about Mabi itself. Moving this to a more appropriate section.

At least they have some common sense of not calling it a Toga. If I see someone call me that, I will severely facepalm.

America is a melting pot. Mix it all together, take one glance, think of everything in a single way, and don't give a **** about the reality.
The American way!

Honestly... That's the truth about America.

When I saw that for the first time, I honestly would not have guessed it was a male-only outfit.
Even with kimonos of higher-class males, I've never seen one quite so...poofy. The ones I've seen are more vertical with the cloth gathering at the bottom and trailing, if there's excess like that.
That aside...I thought Kimonos were supposed to be more attractive the more perfectly vertical they were?..

I love the intricate design. I would kill to get one for myself ingame and real life for festivals. Probably will be extremely expensive if it's well made. It looks great on giants too:

But really, who cares what people say. If it's a dress to them, then it's a dress to them. Take it as a compliment. The above posts already said what I was going to say.

This... shes right... traditionally male kimonos aren't poofy and are vertical, and slender. In mabinogi even if that's male only .. In mabi.. Im sorry
[SPOILER="Spoiler"]It's a male dress
also male I don't think white and bright blue are common MALE* kimono colours
In contrast to women's kimono, men's kimono outfits are far simpler, typically consisting of five pieces, not including footwear.
In the modern era, the principal distinctions between men's kimono are in the fabric. The typical men's kimono is a subdued, dark color; black, dark blues, greens, and browns are common. Fabrics are usually matte.

It sorta looks like a martial arts outfit, in a way with the more puffiness...
But then again, it was designed by someone from another foreign server, no? So you can't judge them for that. D:

just think of it as a super-ordinate category, which dress can be considered as.
life is too short to sweat over such trivial things, imo. There are few people who know the proper names for every cultural piece of clothing, even of popular cultures. I'm sure even you are guilty of being ignorant at one time or another.
