Dwarf Fortress is pretty hard to understand, the graphics layout keeps me away. It's just text to me @_@
It's a complex game, with many actions, buildings, crafts, which is what makes it so awesome, once you understand it, there's a lot of things to do around your fortress and keep it running and surviving.
Understanding it can be a little though, but once you do, it's so worth it. Besides, there's some amazing tuts around (CaptnDuck ones come to mind).
Can I have a link to that tutorial?
Edit: nvm herp derp
Going to try Dwarf Fortress again.
Though to be perfectly honest, I'd just go with Dwarf Fortress >:V
Build and manage a super dwarven fortress, have a bunch of dwarf mine, and defend it against sieges (Dwarf Fortress) >>> Build house, kill monstahs, mine materials upgrade equipment, summon bosses for moar equipment. (Terraria) > Build a house and cower inside it, go out to kill a few zombies or mine your ass off yourself. (Minecraft)
And it's free, wee.
Actually, that is only for the first few nights. Once you get some iron you can have some real fun fighting mobs at night.
Also, wait for the Adventure Update, It's going to have dragons, NPC villages, animal farms, and bosses. :D
I'm gonna have to check that one out.
I'd like if minecraft had a ton of RPG elements, like improving skills (you could have mining skill, sword skill, and whatnot), A LOT more types of materials and A LOT MORE of ore qualities, more variety for equipment, why not magical properties, and better and deeper dungeons with fat loot to get.
The adventure update seems like one further step towards that, I'm gonna have to try it out when it comes out.
