If there are no enhance runes to protect you from +11 and above, I don't see how that can be broken. You are taking a pretty big risk to get a justifiably big reward.
Currently (using Dreamwalkers as an example)
Dreamwalker Twin Swords +10
+7,000 Attack, +120 Damage, +24 Attack Speed
Every rank after
+200 (+250 for +14/15) Attack, +20 Damage, +3 Attack Speed
Dreamwalker Twin Swords +15
+8,100 Attack, +220 Damage, +39 Attack Speed
(This rate seems consistent with every Level 61 weapon from my quick check)
Right now the rewards are good enough so some people are willing to go all the way. Considering we're looking at 200 attack and 1.5% attack speed each rank at this point, it's already a pretty good trade off. At +15, a person already has 1100 attack, 7.5% speed, and 100 bonus damage over someone with a +10.
From +0 to +10 you gain a total of 950 attack and 15 attack speed (7.5%). +5 (no NX required) to +10 is only 600 attack and the 7.5% speed (and is already worth spending 20+ dollars on for a lot of people).
If it's something minor (say 50-100 more attack per rank), I won't mind. What my problem with this is, if they make the improvements too good, so that we're looking at over 3000 attack gaps between people with and without +15s, or even more speed (say 20% or more), we're going to end up at the point where gear may define skill, not actual skill.
There's a limit with how much improvement you can add to +11-15 without making them overpowered, and that's why I'm unsure if this is good or bad. I mean, the gap between +5 and +10 is already pretty big. A +15 is already much better then a +10, enough so that a lot of people currently risk aiming for +13 or +14.
I might be worrying over nothing, but this could end badly. I'll wait on information though.
