I'm still here! They got me 'til 5.
It's a process of selection. I'm bored out of my ass.
The trial is for some guy who fell off a ladder. He's suing for damages.
...FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-
seriously, ladders are used at your risk for a reason

Most boring trial ever?

Actually, you CAN'T get out of it by saying you're racist.
Last October, when I had mine, this chick tried that, and tried saying that they deserve to be put in jail blah blah blah, and still had to do jury duty.
Judges aren't stupid, they know all those tricks.

It might work if you lie
well, instead of being blatantly obvious.
You might be able tell after the first couple questions what the trial will be about. Throw a couple hints at bias and you might get tossed out.
I don't know how that would work with falling off a ladder though... my case was about drunk driving and the questions I got were about things like if I drink or have cops as relatives. Easy to skew.

I was lucky not to get chosen for the ladder trial. It would have lasted approximately 10 days. ._.
Anywho, I have to go back today since they put me back in the selection pool. However, if I don't get chosen today, they won't call me again for 6 years!
Really hoping for that.

Try to play off having agoraphobia, or xenophobia, and they'll release you from jury duty.

I'm not that great of an actor. haha
Thanks though!
I don't worry too much. Last time, there were so many people that they didn't even get to me.

I actually wouldn't have minded doing my jury duty... Except the panel I was on contained a girl I knew from high school, and due to things from back then we weren't on speaking terms, so the awkward factor forced me to get out of it. She was also the girl trying to pull the racism ticket, really badly though.

Truthfully, if they tell me to be a juror for a trial, I wouldn't complain so much.
I'd get paid $40 a day and I'm not working, so...
A 10-day trial would have earned me $400, which isn't too shabby for just sitting around.
It's just that I would much rather sleep or stay at home being lazy.

I wouldn't have minded... Because I get paid by my work ON top of what I get from being on a jury.
It also depends on the trial I'd have to be on;
The first case I was on was because an old guy beat the crap out of a guy who was drunk and harassing him, and yelling out racial slurs at a pool room.
The second case was a guy who was accused of false imprisonment (Using fear to keep someone inside their home), and several other things that I forget.

Oh yeah, the trial is important too.
I'd like something interesting to keep me awake.
I'll let you know if they put me on one or not later today.

Hope its something like the french guy shanking a guy for shanking him in game.
I'd have serious problems not laughing during the trial at stupid crap like that though.

I have to postpone my jury duty because I have summer classes.
If I worked for the city, I'd want to be called in for a trial, though.
