Heated argument. We couldn't come to a resolve.
I wrote this 'cause I felt emo and poetic and little bitter. These 4 sentences sum up how I'm feeling right now.
You disregard me completely, like I don't exist.
Always seeing my wrongs, but never my virtues.
To you, I'm only a passing moment.
Tell me then. was the moment worthwhile?
Do you write stuff when you're angry?

No.

Doing it wrong.
When feeling emo, you go buy a new zombie game, a bunch of cookies, ice cream, sweet foods, etc, and blast your life out for about 8 straight hours.

Pity.

Poetry bores the crap out of me, and I fail to understand its artistic aspect of it.
But thats just me.
Anyone can write a bunch of words that fall together well with 2 minutes of brainstorming and a thesaurus. I aced all my poetry courses and I didn't even know what I was doing.
I either had natural talent for it, or anyone can bs poetry. I'm thinking the latter.
Most of it also happens to be really negative words no one wants to really read. Like dragging down everyone with you when you write. You're having blast one day and suddenly someone who is down writes a poem and has you read it. The mood dies.

Haha, I take no offense to your opinion. :)
I'll feel better in the morning.
Thank you, however!

This, exactly my same thoughts.

This is now a poetry thread.
The only poems that are worth it are Haikus, only when used as a punchline.

Writing is always fun.
Heck, getting creative is always fun. Even if it's just grabbing a bunch of brushes and painting an absolutely ridiculous piece of crap that you know you'll throw away. It's just venting.
Poetry. You might not understand because it's not yours; it's not personal. Although some of it does seems like downright bullcrap, some actually has some meaning behind it and I appreciate that. I don't completely disregard it.
In fact, I love to write. In a blog, on this forum... even if it's spam or useful information, there tends to be some meaning (random or not) behind it sometimes.
And that's the fun aspect of it. The creativity. Even if it's talking about penises all day long on this forum. It's funny.
I think that applies to poetry or writings like: "My mother is a fish," in Faulker's As I Lay Dying, for example. This sentence is one whole chapter. Both confusing and nonsensical, but random and witty! (Maybe the character was drunk, I forget.)
Hilarious.
I appreciate that.

Haiku, is like that.
Five, Seven, Five, hard as hell.

Or the one poem I wrote. It literally bashes poetry as a form of art.
I like regular writing though.
