Also beaten, tasered, and maybe shot.
Considering how they acted it doesn't seem so implausible.
exactly.
imo the more witnesses the better
I don't blame anyone for not getting involved

This is beyond common in police officers these days. It is quite befitting to our broken law system, but still just plain disgusting.
These days you can become a police officer in what.. months? And they hand you a badge. Of course no matter how sh*tty they are, though, the law protects them to the fullest, not matter what stunts they pull. Birds of a feather flock together, no?
The funny thing is, though, if it had been the other way around (a group of homeless dudes attacking and brutalizing an officer), they would have held some big funeral, paid out tons of cash to the officer's family, and sent the offenders to jail for life.
I never liked the law or it's little followers.

Police are good. It's the individual cops that are bad.
I've gotta agree with this. While I've seen horrible stories of what cops can get away with, there are still good ones out there. Somewhere.
But honestly, I can't even believe that after picture. I can't stop staring at it. I think each cop who was present should be charged with homicide.

Aren't they the same thing essentially?

Homicide is not always a punishable act under the criminal law, and is different than a murder from such formal legal point of view.

There are far more "good" cops than "bad" ones. It's just that the bad ones can get away with pretty much whatever they want. They get all of the publicity and it creates a lasting negative stereotype.
The actions of those officers were petty and they shame anyone who wears a uniform.

I grew up respecting the police, never heard let alone seen a "bad" cop, besides dont police have to swear on a sacred duty or somthing?

Swearing really means nothing nowadays.

Also murder is more grievous than manslaughter (
which is a bit weird to read).
Though actually the term should be torture with lethal consequence.

I really think the US as a whole needs to be nuked into a 2 mile deep crater that is permanently uninhabitable.

Now I feel sad that people here distrust the police as a whole...not all cops are bad.
Just like with almost any other group of people, it's the ones that are "bad" that put a negative image on the group as a whole.
Also, my daddy's a good cop, and he's been a cop for 22 years. ;_;...

The problem mostly is that, you can't tell that easily who are the bad cops, so to be safe most people prefer just distrusting the whole.
From my point of view, I don't believe in all the laws so I distrust anyone who tries to inforce them.
