Everywhere I go, I see people complaining about how much the anime differs from the manga; and frankly, I find that to be kind of ridiculous. When I'm watching the anime adaptation for a manga that I have already read; I would rather not see the same exact story played out again! If the anime adaptation deviates from the manga, but can still make a good story, then there really isn't any problem. Now of course, there are plenty of adaptations that ruined the story by deviating (Pandora Hearts last three episodes, Black Butler II, etc). But there are plenty of shows that turn out good (Ao no Exorcist, Rozen Maiden, etc.) Ok, I'm done for now, please don't hurt me.

I don't watch much anime or read that much manga, but I don't mind it so much when it happens with books and movies.
I like to take one work as based off the other, not a complete replica. People have different visions of what they want. You can't honestly expect a movie producer to have the same vision of that book's original author. You're in for a huge let-down if you do.

It only annoying to me if a Anime that first follows a Manga then all of a sudden out of nowhere just pulls some random ace shet out that has nothing to do with teh Manga modifying the story vs the Manga.
Just... follow the Manga or don't follow it at all please. Though, a made up ending is better than no ending/open ending.

I have a feeling this refers to me a bit xD.
Well, I agree with Paul.

If it doesn't follow the manga, then it might as well be a different series entirely.

Like FMA vs FMAb

I wont bother Clicking a poll choice since I don't think it fits into what I believe.
To put it simply if the adaption isn't boring or crap.... and holds my attention idc if its an adaption.

If it isn't canon then the anime has no business being the "official" anime to that series.
Other than that I don't care too much. What pisses me off more is fillers. If you need to use fillers or ridiculous flashback scenes that last half an episode because the manga is still ongoing then maybe you should have waited.
Those are the only two things that I dislike very much in adaptations.
As for japanese to english adaptations they can just go die.

As long as the anime adaption isn't a completely different story, I guess.
I never find it boring when they reuse parts of the story; it's an ADAPTION, meaning that it's meant to play off the story anyways.

Yup. But one is based off of Manga, and one isn't.

I believe the original FMA followed the manga til around the part where they did the flash back about Ed n Al training on the island.

Ehh...Sometimes the anime comes out after the manga, and the mangas sometime just lead different details than the anime. That's when the storyline that differs gets to me.
If animes continue in the manga, then it's fine, as long as they don't leave an ending hanging pretty badly with no manga to back it up with.
Usually when you read the manga first, and then watch the series from the anime perspective, it feels like sometimes, you are watching something entirely different from what you read, which makes it more fun to watch, not knowing what details where where.

I don't really read manga, but if I did, I wouldn't mind. As long as the story is interesting, then I'll follow it. I might even prefer it to differ from the manga just so I'm watching something different... the same thing is pretty boring, and I usually can't watch the same anime more then once until it's really good or I forgot most of it.
I actually like FMA much better then FMA brotherhood. I found myself getting bored of brotherhood within the first episode, and it was very annoying to keep watching, as I'm impatient and don't want to wait until something good happens. While FMA on the other hand is very funny, entertaining, and the way the story is told makes me want to keep watching. and FMA is the one that was different from the manga.
