I would have just laughed with them to be honest.

Well maybe it's not her fault that the lyrics were bad, but she certainly chose to sing them.
From what I recall, she was prepared for the fame and eager to accept it all, both the good and bad. Plenty of people suffer through much worse for things that truly are not their fault in any way.
Besides, is this even a true report?
Question: Why can't people publishing articles for a [S]newspaper[/S] news station bother have their work proofread before posting it?
:warn:
Possible answer: Google "source of ridiculed" with quotes and you'll see exactly how many news outlets took this article as it was written, verbatim.
Edit: I found a meta tag in the Tribune article identifying its source as http://www.ktla.com/news/landing/ktla-oc-rebecca-black-friday-home-schooled,0,5879160.story, but I couldn't find any source link past that point.
I doubt she was expecting to get bullied like crazy as a result of it. She was probably not even expecting to get famous from such a crappy video.
People are being cruel assholes because they are jealous.

The video was funny, but it wasn't that funny... And for that matter, I would think that she would get respect for making such a popular video rather than get bullied over it.
Did you ever got public school? You get bullied over
anything.

People were nice to me in high school. :(In most grades/schools, actually. I changed schools quite a lot as I travelled. Never went to private school.
The only grade that was horrible for me was grade 3, because I was in some ghetto school with lots of immigrants and they were all racist against each other. =_= Bullying ended after some assholes got hurt.
I'm not really sure how a girl is supposed to combat bullying, other than rely on others.

I never got bullied, even though I was pretty much a dorky bookworm. Easy to pick on. Tiny. Quiet. I'm so glad though, because from what I've read it can be so much scarier than people think.

*shrug*
There's no bullying at my school, or cliques, or any high school cliches.
It's kind of sad and boring, but whatever.

The song is about the JFK assassination The driver of the car that JFK was assassinated in, had the name Samuel Kickin (kickin in the front seat, sitting in the back seat...). The assassination occurred on a Friday and when was shot the Secret Service yelled at Jackie Kennedy to "get down" (got to get down on Friday). Part about the cold war and spread of communism are also referenced [everybody rushin' (russian)] and to top it all off, in the hotel that morning JFK declined a breakfast of sausage, eggs and toast for a bowl of Bran Flakes instead (got to have my bowl, got to have my cereal). Also, the following Monday JFK was supposed to sign a bill into law requiring all public schools to provide bus transportation for their students. (got to catch my bus...). Now obviously, "fast lanes, switching lanes" refers to the arms race between the US and the USSR. Fast productions of nuclear weapons, switching up whoever had more control, etc."
just kidding:whoops:
Bullying is a terrible thing, and anyone who promotes such a thing needs to die.
Trolling on the other hand is perfectly okay and is fun in every way.
Why the producers aren't getting more hate is beyond me.
