  Most likely the stacking of stats from things like strength gain from spike (which adds more max damage to both weapons) and stacking of R-type percentages I'm assuming.

  Stacking STR only affects normal attacks, and stacking R-type only affects skills.
  
  Of the two, R-type stacking is the useful dual-wield feature, but it doesn't have to do with anything when you're comparing against an ego which has no critical damage bonuses.

  But isn't that the point?
  Dual wielding with an ego gives you the option to add an R type.

  If you're dual wielding with an ego, your highest average damage will come from another weapon which does not have R type upgrades (Elsinore).
  
  And again, this was about elf melee and the huge boost it received due to Machete ego. Dual wield was only used as a comparison of how a single wield ego setup was not too far behind the very best non-ego dual wield setup for non-critical damage. Obviously dual wield is superior for many reasons, as is Human/Giant melee... but still it's pretty cool that Machete ego will let elves break 600 max damage with melee in trans.
  
  That's like, a mediocre combo card away from elves outdamaging capped golems with their melee.

  Well, both golems and melee get buffs so nothing will really change. If anything, melee gets more buffs than golem does so there's that... but ultimately, the real competition is who has the largest wallet.

  Don't need trans. Machete will allow me, personally, to hit 600 max non-trans as I am now. (with ideal levels and warrior destiny of course. But all within reasonable doable means)
  
  So that's like 700ish in trans.

  Unless I'm missing something I could only see up to 500 max-ish non-trans unless I'm missing something.
  
  Machete + Obliv Swarming Shield + Masteries + Shock Master + perfect max enchant set = 410 max.
  
  Base STR damage from Elf that ages from 17->18 with Warrior destiny at level 101/25 with capped STR = 135 max.
  
  At total it's like 545 max assuming perfect roll ancient/wh/sn and the max damage for every enchant slot... which would turn to 640 max in trans.

  Falcata (50/50/48/50/48/50) 101~175 Damage, 49 Crit, 53 Dura.

  Still looks like the Hooked Cutlass is the winner here for dual wield if you want crit. Otherwise, war sword.
