  America handles rape far stronger than most countries.

  You can whine about how inefficient the justice system is, but America has a better one than most other countries. And its helluva lot better than gathering an angry mob and burning a person.

  You're completely missing the argument I'm making. This discussion is completely worthless.
  
  The point I'm making is, being convicted of rape doesn't result in jail time only like everyone believes. The aftereffects are far more devastating to a person's life than you could possibly imagine, probably a lot worse than the effects of actually getting raped.

  Well, the justice system did a damn fine job of actually ruining the rapist's life. Lets see him try to live a normal life now.

  Ya, angry mobs being allowed to form and have their way without punishment is very worrisome as that suggests a breakdown of law and order. Law and Order is good as long as it's sufficient.
  
  I agree with Cucu as he makes a lot of good points. I also see the other side's points as well. I'm going to have to disagree with the mobs choice of action though.

  I'd say I want to slaughter that mob with a machine gun, but that'd just continue the chain. All of them deserve a worse punishment than the rapist would have gotten (How about a registered lyncher list?)
  
  I'd have rather seen him live his life hated and rejected by everyone, rather than see him burned to death by a group of crazy people.
  
  I really hope that girl recovers okay. She deserves a return to her normal life after all this.
