This is an archive of the mabination.com forums which were active from 2010 to 2018. You can not register, post or otherwise interact with the site other than browsing the content for historical purposes. The content is provided as-is, from the moment of the last backup taken of the database in 2019. Image and video embeds are disabled on purpose and represented textually since most of those links are dead.

On a forum it's perfectly normal to leave a message and check back later for a response, but in a live chat they would expect near instant communication.
I expect near instant communication out of this forum ._.

I tried to go in, then I noticed that I made a typo in the email address :chomp2:
I'll try it out when it isn't so late at night :fail2:

If you use this, you should get a hostmask...

Otherwise you're giving everyone your IP address.

Thanks TA, I forgot about vHost. I'll add that entry in.
We've also set up a new IRC Channel on a different network. This is because many popular nicks are taken on Rizon. So we have a #mabination channel on irc.seraphimlabs.net. It's less crowded and many nicks can currently be registered there. So get yours ASAP.
Edit:
We now have the
webchat available for irc.seraphimlabs.net. I suggest that we now use this as the main IRC, since we are good friends with the admin of that server. He'll be in our channel and will help out if needed. Anybody who has the old webchat bookmarked, should update it.
Last of all, here's the shorturl for our webchat:
http://bit.ly/tvilN3. Pass it around so we have more users and so the chat will never be boring! See you there!

Not really. Most sensibly-configured IRC networks use what's called host cloaking.
Simply put, it scrambles part or all of your IP or hostname so that people other than the network administrators cannot completely determine what it is.
Although vhosts are fun to have where available. Seraphim supports them.
We're not exactly using Rizon anymore, but Seraphim also cloaks the hosts too.
Biggest thing that makes an IRC thrive though is people that do talk regularly as well as just idling. Rooms full of idlers don't last long.

Let's say I enter the IRC and do something inappropriate, can I get banned on the forums since they're related?
-
Bakuryu wrote on 2011-10-30 03:12
It isn't actually official, so I'll say no. But I question why would you even ask this, sounds like you have intentions of doing something inappropriate depending on the answer.

You could get banned on the IRC, but no not the forums. However the first ban will usually just be a warning, but even before that I'll probably tell you to stop whatever you're doing that might lead to a ban first. I encourage you to check out the IRC because there' a lot of nice people on there and the talk doesn't have to be Mabi-related, we'll talk about anything. I also encourage RPing since IRC is fit for that type of stuff.

I have no idea how to use HydraIRC. >: And I can't connect via webchat. q_________q

If you click
here and open with HydraIRC it should just connect directly to the server and channel.

It's not working, all it does is open HydraIRC and opens the Preferences tab, looks like it's loading then it does nothing.
Le sigh.

Rizon doesn't. GameSurge doesn't. In fact, most I've used don't. My hostmask, even if part is removed, even if my IP is removed, my ISP's domain is still shown and it's very area specific. You'd know the exact city.
I always hostmask and /mode +x

.______. I dunno what to fill out for these, why do IRCs have to be so technical.
