I feel like online friendships fall into a different category, per se.
I'm closer emotionally to my 'e-friends' usually, but the literal distance does create a barrier.
So it goes like...
Best friends </= Internet friends <<<<< Friends

a best friend..
someone who likes you for who you are, someone you can be yourself with. Someone who doesn't try to be someone they're not, someone you can trust without a shadow of doubt.
I have one person I can consider my best friend, and making each other happy and caring unconditionally is each of our active goals.
I consider a best friend like falling in love with someone without the passion. (more relevent in opposite sex friendships)
emotional maturity is most important to me, honestly.

Quote from Nexon;616353:
I guess my boyfriend is pretty much my best friend. I mean I tell him everything and stuff like I would a best friend.
Honestly, I don't get along with other females well, so I've never really had a female best friends (good friends, yeah, but nobody close enough to be a best). It's not like I'm a ***** or I think they're all *****y or I don't like them like other women do, I just don't interact with them like I do with guys. Does that make sense?
it makes sense. but i've always found girls are harder to bond with than guys. i can be more open with guys and i find them more trustworthy than females, though that's just me
my bff is female though, my friend holly. i've known her since i was 12, so it's been a while. she's like a sister to me :D
HOW DO MAKE BEST FRIENDS.
I think my 'current' best friend is awesome.
I think she's also much older than I am.
I think she's pretty wise and all-knowing, and likes to educate me about things.
I'm pretty sure she's my Modern World/Gender Studies teacher.
:l
i couldn't tell you how. i haven't made a new friend in 4 years ಥ_ಥ

I don't really talk to anyone other than my girlfriend, so I guess that makes her my best friend. My laptop would be a close second since I spend alot of time with [S]him[/S] it.

I'm completely that foreveralone.jpg. The friends I make I have such a hard time striking conversations with them at the beginning when I don't know what to talk about. Then they just stray away from me and become someone that I know, and then not someone that I am necessarily friends with.
I'm somewhat closer to some of my online friends than the people I meet really, because I get to know people online steadily. Some of my friends that I have met at school don't take friendship really, very seriously. They just like you for something, and think you're both friends because you've done something for them, or when you happen to strike up a few words with them. This is practically classmates, though.
My best friends get into so many arguments with me, so I wouldn't consider them best friends and all. I stopped classifying people's friendships by rankings since I graduated Elementary School. People's friendships are not to be classified into how someone views it, but how they express their friendship. Saying someone is your first best friend to me, has no literal meaning in my sense.

Me and my bestest of all besties are definitely gonna be friends till the end! We've been friends for 6 years now and we hardly ever fight. It just doesn't happen cause we know each other so well. Were always there for one another no matter where we are or what were doing atm. Just put up my bat signal and I'm there. Plus we can be crazy together >xD Everyone thinks were dating though but watevs.
I have a lot of good friends that I talk to on a regular basis, and know a decent amount about me, and we'll hang out often. Which is good to have cause then after many years if they still around they can upgrade to bestie.
Although, I do have friends-by-association. Someone's girl/boyfriend that I end up being friends with while their dating.
Also, this...

My best friend is also my partner. >///>
As well as one of my high school friends. The way these two act towards each-other is really funny to me.

I like what Mama said! I completely agree with her. \:D/
I mean, I think one of the things that's so hard about making a 'best' friend in high school-ish is that one of the main things you're doing is discovering yourself and what makes you different than others. When I think about my best friends from when I was younger, we were each very much similar to each other; we argued occasionally, but over really silly things and the next thing you know we'd be laughing at something else. I feel like I spend a lot of time clashing with my friends about even trivial things that they say, because our opinions are so different, and you WANT to be different from everybody.
