Yeah, I had to remove my main signature because I can't have two pictures in my sig yet.

I don't really know what the issue is with multiple images so long as one is tiny and the other is big.

Can signatures be moved so it begins after the end of the post instead of the forum pets/ IM information? That way there's less empty space in each post.

I agree with all of this, exception of my entire reediting my signature.
Meh, never can find someone to draw my character.
When I do, they're either on hiatus or too busy to make one.[/FONT]

I'm pretty much against the new signature changes. I've seen no major issues with signatures at all really, and if a signature was really obnoxiously huge then it would be common place to report it. That in mind, even with the changes, the only difference I see with lowering the maximum resolution for signatures is that you view more posts. Rather, I'm looking right now at Compass and Strawberry's subsequent posts and the main difference of lowering the sig size is being able to read both of their brief messages at the same time. Notice how both of them do not have any user title reward for "XXXX of the year" or a huge stash of pets.
That in mind, I can understand the point of it being that someone has sh*tty internet or that the bigger your sig, the more it affects the server somehow, but other then that if it's because the posts are too damn big and one post takes up your entire screen, that's just stupid. You're basically saying you're too lazy to use the scroll bar to view over the other posts and would rather people make their sigs smaller to make life easier for yourself. If anything, you should be blaming the ridiculously huge space between the message and the signature that is taken because of the avatar and etc. on the left side of posts for making them blatantly large.
Now let me make an example here. Kita's post on my screen takes up 4/5ths of my screen reading the post on page 4 where I begin to start reading Moppy's post in the 1/5th of that screen. I don't know how big my monitor actually is, but it's big enough for me to be at 1600x1024 resolution. It's not even because his signature is still too big after resizing, rather his User Reward, Avatar, rows of Pumpkins, Vindictus info, and any other text and the rep bar increased the actual size of his post. Scrolling down, Moppy's post takes up even more space than Kita's because of the ridiculous amount of pets and user icons he has.
Most of the time people will look at your signature once and never look at it again for a while. Slapping your signature in spoiler tags means they won't be able to see any changes you may have made to it. It also kills the point of upgrading your account for more images in your signature since they would also most likely be plopped in spoiler tags. Half the time people don't even bother dropping down the spoiler tags in your signature to see what's inside, with the main point of signatures being that they're supposed to help identify who you are. You can argue, "Well gee, if so-and-so doesn't want to see signatures, then that's why it's in spoiler tags." Uh, no, if so-and-so did not want to see signatures, I'm sure there's an option to disable signatures on the site. There's even an option to LIMIT THE HEIGHT OF SIGNATURES. If it really was a problem for some people and they still wanted to see signatures, why not just limit the height and carry on with your day?
With that, I still stand against this change. If anything, I'm even willing to only post in certain threads in bean rua related to a story I'm writing out of boredom (Since I'm actually thinking about rebooting it for a better start and more organization). Even anyone has a problem with my signature size in that thread, then they can always leave the thread since I won't be bother them elsewhere.

Wouldn't be a problem if the forums could be set up so the signature doesn't start after all the information on the left.
Admittedly my post does take my the entire page, from top to bottom, even if I don't fill all the spaces given by default. Wish we could do something about this.

If it helps, I'm wondering what can be done about all that extra space from pets next.
The most important signature rule is filesize; we don't want people to have to dl 10+MB from a single post just to view a page. The literal size restrictions are more quality-of-life. We went with 300px total because it still allows for a good deal of room without abiding too much content. It's very unlikely that anyone has something so amazing that it can't be spoilered and must be that huge...

Taycat wrote on 2011-10-15 16:08
Changed sig for this....but didn't we already have a thing that we could set and signatures would be automagically resized anyway...?
And it doesn't help that I have the biggest posts ever, does it?

Essentially I think we would be fine if we had a posting system similar to Hongfire's where the the content on the left hand corner of our posts appears on vertically on the top of our posts to save room.
