First half of the video: Speculation based on speculation based on speculation based on a bit of data. :P
Solar storms are another matter. Gotta keep spares for emergency purposes. Nothing else you can do, really.

There's no need in worrying about things like this. Even if it were to happen and we were all to die, there wouldn't be anything anyone could do to stop it and we probably wouldn't even know what happened anyway because we'd be dead.
Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the Mayan calender simply end on December 21st, 2012? This whole description that the Mayans had is news to me. Not to mention, how many times have we gone through this whole "end of the world" bull**** already? Remember in 1999 when people were ****ting because they thought the world was going to end in 2000?
Yeah, it's all a possibility, but that's it. Anything is possible.

Apparently it'll be on the 21st of this month. Of course, we've all seen how well churches predict dooms days.

Dat Old Guy.....
Dunno why people listen to em after he's been WRONG SEVERAL TIMES! Obviously credibility means nothing these days.

The world is going to end sometime within the next 100 years (if not less) so I don't see why a specific date makes much of a difference.
The end result is the same regardless: We all die.

How do you figure that?

Overpopulation: Serious problem but we'll adjust
Global Warming: Not proven to be entirely caused by humans nor disproved
Sun: Give it a few million years to enlarge
Nuclear Fallout: Possible but highly unlikely. Nukes are a tooooooooooooooooooooooouuuuchy subject with a lot of countries.
Zombie Invasion: GG
Biochemical Warfare (ie: Contagion): Won't kill everyone
???
Alien Takeover: Game Over
