  I think it might initially, but if someone proves they can be mature despite his/her age, I don't think it'd be a problem then. Besides, it probably wouldn't affect older members, since we all already like or dislike each other whether or not we know each other's ages.

  people (like me) judged him for his age but he kinda proved to be more mature than I thought
  and he's TEN

  pokecommunity had it at one time
  
  and I've seen others that I've lurked for a few minutes on
  that's why I emphasis "optional"
  not a default thing
  if a user is worried of being discriminated then they don't have to add their age
  I'm pretty sure anyone on here can be discrimination for a number of things, not just their age

  I sort of like this idea. I've always wondered about how old some people were, but I always thought it might be too forward/creepy to just ask right out. And, if it's optional, people don't HAVE to share their age.

  There are some things that simply cannot be done on these forums without completely re-coding everything. Osay does what he can.
