Honestly, I've seen a large amount of flaming starting to appear on these threads more and more, each and every single day. Also, I believe there was two moderators who just went on hiatus, because of problems in their lives. To be honest, I think there needs to be more moderators on the forums, especially for certain times when there's no other moderator is able to respond to the situation on-hand.
I don't know what it is; however, there's some personal issues flying across these forums and I really don't want to see these forums turn into the trash (which we call the "Nexon Forums") we don't want to become.
Can we hire more people? Even if it's temporary...

I think they're fine. There are going to be fights, there are going to be trolls. You can't really do much about those things other than lock threads, give out warnings/infractions, and ban. No forum is perfect.
The mods do what they can. You can't expect them to be around all the time. If someone is bothering you, don't let it get to you. Report it and go on with your day. A lot of you guys get way too hung up on things and then become defensive. All that does is make you just as guilty and the problem that much worse.

Of course, but there was a certain thread was doing a flaming session for 2+ hours. Hell, there was one flaming the entire overnight hours and I think there needs to be more moderators on here. I'm just saying as a suggestion and that's all, not saying their performance is horrible. I just think there needs a few more on hands, since there's people been getting a bit nastier and ruder on these forums these days.
I've seen a few threads that really needs to be reported and people are just going off at each other, just like a Jerry Springer episode. I don't let it get to me, unless they're really trying to degrade me or really need a point proven to them. That's all I do and I try to follow the rules as much as possible, while proving the point/fact.

I think there's sometimes where the Moderators are unable for hours and the trolls use it to their advantages to troll/harass/flame as much as possible. I understand everything isn't perfect; however, we have to do our best to handle the situation as much as possible. I like these threads much better than Nexon Forums, because everyone is nice and such, but there's flaws to everything.... so I can't argue about that.

First of all, thank you for trying to keep the RA thread in hand.
Second, I do agree that a few more mods wouldn't hurt, seeing as there are some people that are not mods but have the potential to become mods.

I've been here all morning, only for the past ~40 minutes or so have I actually gone and done my own stuff. In that 40 minutes is when the reports came in.
Even though sometimes mods can't take care of it immediately (it'd be naive to assume we can), punishment does get handed out in a timely manner. If the goal of hiring more people is so that issues can be resolved right away, there's not enough people on the forum to monitor that 24/7.

Also, just because you don't see things going on doesn't mean they aren't. Mods don't always close threads or edit posts. Most of what does go on goes on behind the scenes, where no normal members can see it. You don't know when someone is given a warning or infraction, because that's between them and the rest of the staff.

The staff are people with lives and sleeping patterns too. D:
I don't think we have a broad enough range of good, active people in different time zones for any more mods, really. We're all pretty much contained to North America, and we don't all stay on all night.

Same's true for the members though. At night, it's inactive enough that not too many problems crop up until morning.

Until you wake up to like 20 reports. :|
I hate those mornings.

Of course they can't be there all of the time, but it would be best to have a few extra moderators on hand, just in case of multiple situations happening or there's a certain time when trolling/flaming/harassment is happening and all the moderators are busy or gone for a while. (Example: Doctor's Appointment, Sleeping, etc.)

Of course we have sleeping patterns, but everyone's different from one another. I know most of the community is contained in North America, but we do have a few that's in Europe and a few in Australia. If I was a moderator, I wouldn't mind doing it during the night. I think there just needs to be a few more moderators on hands, since we just lost two because of personal issues in life.

Entirely this, because I would wake up with a ban-hammer and smack the hell outta some people.
Especially if I'm a cranky/b*tchy mood, that's when you don't mess with me.
(Yet, I've been very contained of my raging on these threads. I'm so glad about that.)

I know this seems to be an issue as well. I can see when Moderators are on the thread by checking the bottom, but I usually check around if there's a moderator on hand. I usually send reports; however, I send them a private message if the problem isn't being resolved and it's really getting out of hand or just downright offensive towards a certain person. Hence, regarding to some of the comments that was made to me a while back.

As the staff members that posted in this thread have already said, the staff are people too, and we do have lives outside of the site. In fact, I don't think there's a single staff member currently that doesn't have something to do during the day, be it either school or a job. While some of us do have access to a computer at various times during the day, others have no access until they get home from school/work, myself included. And of course, we also have to sleep at night for the next day of school/work. Because of this, we can't patrol the forums every waking hour of the day.
Of course, that's where your idea comes into play, where me or Chise hires a new mod or two that are active during the day or in the late hours of the night. The only real problem I see with this is, being the person who's in charge of staff management, that there aren't a whole lot of people that I see active during the trouble hours that I would deem worthy of being a staff member. While I'm basing what I see on who is posting what during those hours, and there could be more than qualified people that just lurk or try to keep their noses out of trouble and report the problem posts. Chise and I recently did some staff evaluations, and there's a chance that we'll open up some positions once we get it all sorted out, in which case there will probably be a thread with applications for a position or two, but in the mean time, just report the problem posts/threads and wait until a staff member gets around to take care of it. We do take care of things, if not as soon as it happens, as soon as we see it, even if there's no sign showing that we are.

The Moderators on Mabination aren't just mindless robots throwing out random bans like on Nexon.
They're people too, they have jobs and can't pay all that attention to Mabinations trouble-makers 24/7. They'll hand out the infractions and the bans when they can. Besides, does getting called a "Faggot" by a complete stranger actually offend anyone?
Certainly does not offend me.
Now lets start the Moderator Revolution!
