Quote from Mythical Detective Loki;985947:
1. So the only way to defeat a bad guy is the elements of harmony?
2. Seeing as her brother married cadance, I think Twilight Sparkle may consider her family now and find it respectable to do so.
1. That's not really the main point of point 1. The unfleshed out villan is majority of that complain. It's just EOH has become like a tradition of the show, I am just disappointed it didn't make an appearance.
2. That's purely your speculation. It wasn't explained in the show and honestly it's never about her place comparing to Princess Celestia, I think she calls her "Princess" or "Your highness" because of her utmost respect for her as a mentor and leader. And calling her "Celestia" shows her loss of respect for the princess (if we are pretending it's not a slip up on writers' part).

Ok saw episode 3 and here are my opinions:
While this episode is better than the season premiere, it is still sub par in my opinion. Again it's this feeling that they brought someone less talented to the writing team. Pinkie Pie from my humble understanding is a character who is wacky but her true nature lies in her motivation to make other people happy. The defining moment of her character was when sonic rainboom hit and she found out what she wants in her life and that is to bring joy to others. Pinkie also has an underlying insecurity where she fears her attempt to cheer people up may drive them away from her.
The reason why I don't find episode 3 particularly good is because the plot lies on the surface. It's like a fanfic, where someone with superficial understanding of her personality wrote a story about Pinkie. Pinkie Pie doesn't have fun for her own sake, she has fun because she wants her friends to have fun, and in term bring herself happiness. This episode portrait Pinkie as a pony who doesn't want to miss any fun so she split herself up in order to have all the fun. On paper this would be fine, except it contradicts with her motives for having fun which is to bring joy to other ponies. It is never really about her, Pinkie is a great friend because her joy revolve around other ponies.

The whole point of that episode was the fake Pinkies all only cared about having fun for themselves, while the real Pinkie cared more about being with her friends. She made the copies so that she wouldn't have to choose between her friends, but then she was horrified when her copies started wreaking havoc and ruining everyone else's fun.
Also, none of the Season 3 episodes have been written by new writers. This particular one was written by the same guy who wrote
Feeling Pinkie Keen and
Over a Barrel.

My problem lies with her initial motivation, her initial motivation is a selfish one, she split herself literally because she wants to have more fun. It's not about making Rainbow Dash or Applejack happy, it's about experience fun, she demonstrated that by rushing all over the place to experience it, like jump on apple cart, swirl the cloud, it's all momentary and doesn't really make her friends feel better (Rainbow maybe, but that's purely coincidental).
And if the writer is the same, what the fudge happened?

I don't see a problem with the idea that Pinkie just wants to have fun; she still cares about her friends more. Yes, her number one motivation is to bring joy to people, but the idea that she sometimes just wants to experience things is totally in line with her character.
But, that episode's old news now. Time for the Cutie Mark Crusaders!

Ok episode 5 is out. My personal opinion is: Best episode this season yet. I get this feeling if they used this episode as season premiere the season would have a much better start. They also manage to keep the theme of friendship seamlessly in the plot of this episode, and none of the ponies seem out of place. I am glad the team got their traction back, here's hoping for another excellent season.

What if I think ponies are much more beautiful covered in their own blood and wish to talk about the methods to make such things happen? Because you should very well know, that everything is becomes very delicious when killed violently with blood everywhere!

I don't object to violent pony videos and such, it's not my taste, but if someone likes it I don't object. The rule is mainly for people who will start a fight about mlp. Before this thread was made, there have been a barrage of pro, anti mlp threats.
