Do I? Yes. Is it effective? No.
Shot of God has always been a rocking debate among archers saying that it's raw luck or not. I want your input on it. Lately, I've been pressured to put SoG in my guide but I've always been a skeptic with the technique.
My thoughts: There is evidence that an ordinary player can make hyper-accurate shots from any range given their stance and such. I believe it does exist however, it is not an effective means to rely on as your strategy. Archery has always been luck for me; SoG is no different. I've landed it a few times, out of range even, in a row even. I play with constant 6-16 ms ping and still have trouble landing it all the time. The fact that a frame decides the accuracy of your shot from 0 or 100 is no different than waiting for a shot from 30 to 99. Not to mention, when it does fail more than once, it's a horrible SP sink. To me, a technique is being able to land it almost all the time with perfect situations. From my personal front, I have perfect situations and land it only about 70% of the time.

I'm also somewhat skeptical, though since it's not useful in enclosed fighting areas and isn't reliable elsewhere, I don't really care to investigate.

I can pull of SoG in range, but never outside of it. I know the timing of it decently and can never ever get it out of range. .___. So I'm thinking it's just luck

Shot of God is pretty easy for me. I learned to pull it off after watching Sen's vids.

Personally, I find it not something I can rely on, in fact I cant rely on regular range half the time. Sometimes though I instantly fire at like 0% and still kill it but most of the time its by accident.

This video has a guy attempting out of range SoG and succeeding
Theres a better video on youtube somewhere with an elf shooting a tiny speck miles away but can't find it
Just to clarify
SoG - Frame Glitch
God Shot - the Mod/Hack

It exists because the Korean Erinn Walker covered it.

No to both questions in the title. I recorded 10 minutes of me trying out of range SoG, hit 3 times during that 10 minutes, and going back frame-by-frame the animation places for all 3 shots were different. Anyone can hand-pick a set of 10+ of consecutive shots to upload to YouTube.
If it takes you more than two seconds to reach 99% aim you need to raise your dex anyways.

A little off topic, but does DEX actually raise aim speed?

No it doesn't.
I guess from seeing videos shooting stuff out of range, SoG actually exist, but it is too unreliable.

I could never pull it off, so i dont believe in it! Instead, i use the old but good stratagy of running up to a monsters face, magnuming it, then loading wm or ar or something else to protect myself it if happens to live.

It's not worth it, I pulled off out of range SoG a couple of times, but it's far too unreliable. Ranged combat is already too unreliable as it is, I don't need yet another thing making it even more unreliable.

People hitting things from across the desert is not conclusive evidence for sog. Sog implies that a player who has perfect timing can get greater accuracy than normal. Sog would explain out of range shots, but it's also possible that every shot has a very low probability of landing regardless of the stated aim, and as Axx notes, regardless of timing. I wouldn't call that sog since it wouldn't be useful at all.
Kyou, are you saying that you've landed consecutive out of range shots? How many times have you tried? I nailed hits every 100 or so shots, so if I tried 10000 times I'd prolly get a consecutive too...

I actually ment that individually, guess I should have clarified. I have nailed SoG out of ranged. And I have nailed SoG in range consecutively, more than 10 in a row if I'm lucky.
My main gripe with SoG is that, if it is indeed a frame glitch, would it not always work with the same frame out of range too? Is there a difference by preforming SoG in range or out range? It seems like where SoG fails, luck and normal aim takes over in range. Though, if that's true, wouldn't that make SoG completely unreliable if you can nail it once every 20 shots out of range?

But that's just it, where luck succeeds, you say it's SoG and where luck fails, you say you just must've mistimed SoG. That's the main reason I throw out whatever people say about in-range SoG.

I've tried it before to mixed results. I honestly think it's too dependant on the connection and beliefs of the person doing it.
Personally I think it exists, but it's too hard to do consistently that it might as well be like those fancy infinite loops in fighting games, they're possible but it's probably easier and more effective to just do things the normal way.
