Were we planning to make a giant guide at some point? It seems obvious Devcat has no plans to make giants more popular, but I really wish I saw more decent giants and less naked, super-blobs.
We were supposed to but a lot of people got locked out and or quit. There's also the mass blanket banning so there really aren't nearly as many people around as there were before.

Meh
I'll be done building my new comp as soon as I get some thermal paste, so once the lockout ends, I'm still up for that. For starters...a more polished GFS video :x

Building PCs so fun~ Your CPU didn't come with a heatsink that has thermal paste applied? or did you buy a seperate one

The thermal paste that comes pre-applied to many heatsinks often isn't as good as the tube stuff for various reasons (including the mechanics needing to have it pre-applied the way it is).

Ehh tested it on some foxes, still don't see a difference. I have over 600 max damage with my battle hammer, and I did maybe 500-600 more damage critting with 5 swings (max hit) vs. 2 swings (max hit).
Really don't see the point of waiting an extra few seconds for such a minimal amount of damage.

You're one strange case then. Everyone I know, myself included, see a huge difference when taking the extra time to load the skill.

It's an intel i5. If it came with paste, I missed it.

I can't argue with numbers~
I'd run some tests but I can't log on atm.

I bought.. an i3 2100T for my build. I was sure they came with thermal paste on them already, and you can't really see it too well. Oh well, did you look around on the net and see if your specific chip came with it?

Tried to reply to this earlier, but I suppose there are some issues when posting from a wii...
Your FS is r1, is it not? I can't really argue with numbers, so this warrants some testing...which I am unable to do atm. But...hold that thought?

I did not, though I definitely want to play it safe. There was no indication that it came pre-applied, though there was also no instruction to apply any.

I can test it tomorrow if I've got time, I'll even upload a video to back my words.
The heat sinks that come with Intel CPUs usually come with thermal paste pre-applied, my box didn't tell me paste was included but when I take out my heatsink to look- there's paste residue on the top of my chip from the bottom of my cooler. I would recommend looking around since even a small tube of paste would probably cost you like.. 8 bucks.
EDIT: Fresh example as promised.

Does 2hand hitboxes affect the skill?
Like Battle hammer or Broad axe?
-
Rydian wrote on 2011-12-09 20:39
In my experience pre-applied thermal compound is on the HSF, not the CPU.

Ahaha, my bad. I wasn't paying attention when I typed that I guess. Yeah, that's what I meant. Lemme edit

I haven't noticed any difference in size. As long as you're using a 2H blunt you're fine...otherwise it has almost no range at all.
