Back over at the UTAU fandom I'm hosting a Pokemon tournament on Pokemon Online. It's somewhat small, around 12 to 14 people. I'm curious if I were to hold a separate tournament, would anyone be interested?
This is mainly an interest post since I can't really start any tournaments formally until mid-January, and primarily because I'm worried about 1) too few/too many people for an effective tournament and 2) people not knowing me well enough to be interested in something I'm holding. Though of course I'm open to someone else hosting it.

Oh I should have clarified, it's a Pokemon Online tournament (where most tournaments are held). Editing first post.

What is pokemon online and how does it work?
If it isn't a hassle to start, then I might like to participate.

Pokemon Online is a battle simulator (it's used in tournaments to cut down stall time). Setting up everything is really easy, takes a few minutes at most.

I havent battled using simulators in a long time. I belive shoddy is better, and more popular when I used to be interested. Unless shoddy does not have the new pokemon

Shoddy Battle/Pokemon Laboratory still lacks Gen V whereas Pokemon Online has options for setting Gen IV/V.

If you were to host this, Are we going to use the Tier?

It would depend on consensus, I think. In the UTAU fandom not a lot of us are into competitive battling so I just set it to a strange OU that allows use of one Uber.
(I also put in a requirement that all battlers have at least one Gen IV team on hand for the case that their partner isn't familiar with Gen V but that's another story.)

I'm totally in, but the last time I played Pokemon Online the cat straight up buried me into a grave.

Aye.
Smogon rules? Active clauses?
I haven't played PO in a while to be fair but I'm willing to emulate some of my teams from Black to it.

Like I said, all rules would prolly be discussed and placed in consensus. Definitely keeping sleep clause, species clause, and at least a small version of the evasion clause (though we can go all the way).

If we do that, then I don't know what to use. My main "competitive" team is 6 Bibarels that only know HMs. D:
Oh well, guess I'll just stick with a Metronome team I guess if we do have a tournament. What's so fun about strategy when luck can guide you to victory! [s]if you're lucky[/s]
