Agreed. The kid could've been killed by that bolt.

and someone could be killed by a rock thrown on their head.
What the kid was doing wasn't safe either.

That's a damn good question. If it was Texas I would find it more believably common as most Texans probably have a gun with them at all times.

I want to know who's badass enough to have a crossbow in a car and why.
Poor boy, well, hopefully his rock throwing days at cars is over. Not the best way to teach him, but I'm surprised nobody is arrested.
I wanna see someone badass enough to carry a longbow with them in the car.

But shooting the
kid with a crossbow is just stupid. A crossbow bolt could cause him serious complications.

Perhaps the people in the car watched "The Walking Dead" and knew that they had better carry a crossbow at all times... On a serious note, nobody was killed and the kid learned a valuable lesson. Also, perhaps they didn't mean to actually hit him, mabye it was a poorly aimed warning shot to scare the living **** out of him.

Who carries a crossbow in their car these days?
Someone on their way to or from a hunting trip maybe. I know several people that hunt with crossbows.

The kid wasn't trying to hit people with his rock but it could have happened.
The same might be true about the guy/girl with the crossbow. For all we know, it is a possibility the person tried to shoot near the kid to scare him off but accidently shot him instead.
A rock is enough to kill a person, I'm pretty sure Death is considered a "Serious complication".
Anyway, for going against the right of ownership of other people, I do not disagree with the crossbow guy's action. It would have been best if he could have killed the kid through, well I guess I'm not better and would have given the kid some mercy by letting him live..

I have nothing to say to this, for I do not know if you're being serious or not.

Well, the kid could be potentially damaging people's cars, without being fined or anything.

Shooting the kid with a crossbow (really though, a crossbow.. ._.) wouldn't solve anything, and killing the kid is just outrageous.
Though it's nice that it's nothing major.

My first reaction: WTF a crossbow!?!? And a bolt to the abdomen?
Throwing rocks at cars is much more serious than just some minor car damage.
People can get injured due to rocks hitting windshields and possibly shattering the glass or even hitting the driver/passenger at such a high velocity.
How would you react if something suddenly came and shattered your windshield while driving? You wouldn't be in a state of complete relaxation, that's for sure.
Reading stories about people dieing due to this kind of stuff is tragic. Thankfully, no one died or was seriously hurt.

If he got hit in the abdomen with a crossbow and his injuries weren't life-threatening, the shooter had to be actively trying not to kill him.
Crossbows do serious damage...you don't just get lucky.

Really though, they should seperate the matters into two different cases. The kids parents should be fined -heavily, and the guy should be charged with assault with a deadly weapon, or whatever that should be filed under.
