Get a 600~750 watt Corsair/Antec/ maybe coolermaster PSU
those are a lot more reliable.
Yup. Oh I just choose that power supply because it looks pretty.
Also I'm not sure on how PSU work but the motherboard I chose uses a 24pin power connector and you showed me a 20+4 would it still work?
:O?
Reason? AMD haven't been doing very well in the CPU area for a while now. The only AMD CPUs I recommend are the low-end (lower than this anyway) versions for people who don't care about computing power. Well, the difference isn't huge but my recommendation for gaming is for the 2100. Well I prefer AMD over Intel, it's not a big deal if the i3-2100 does a better job as long as it works.
Adapters do exist but look around and weigh it up. Cost, performance, tally these up and make a call based on that. Again, the difference isn't huge. Also I've checked the 6790 and none of them have a VGA input/output, they use DVIs and I plan on using my old monitor.
At this point we start running into questions like "How high?" because things like your 550Ti aren't very good for "high end gaming" in fact it fares worse than the GTX 460 768MB. What kind of monitor do you have at the moment? How high does it go? If you're not able to run at 1920x1080 resolution then playing games on high settings isn't a big deal (as in, it's easily achieved even on mediocre cards like the 550Ti) Also I just want a computer that's can play games on high settings ;~;
Considering I listed a whole bunch of Antec PSUs just prior... Well, the brands aren't "silly". Must be the PSU's themselves -_-
Yeah, I'm sure you explained that well. Edit: I only said "100w-200w" more in case he wanted to CrossFireX/SLI =/. Its called "Future-proofing" -_-
My 6970 only has DVI/HDMI. [S]It came with a VGA to DVI adapter though.[/S](Nevermind it didn't come with one, I already had one on hand. You can get them though.)
Maybe the 6790 comes with the adapter too :P
Edit: I read some article on this tech website (idk the website) recently about this guy who got 2 550-Ti's for SLI mode. Apparently they couldn't run Skyrim on Ultra that well, and that was 2 =/. I think it was 550-TI. I'm only going from memory here.
Imo I recommend a 6970, but I'm probably a bit biased :P (really love mine, no regrets xD)
Edit2: This is the card I got: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125371
Runs everything I have played so far at maximum settings in 1920x1080 (including games like BF3, Skyrim with HD texture mods etc)
Also, not sure if anyone has suggested brands for the PSU. Imo Corsair, Antec are 2 main ones (I know there are a few more "Main" brands. But I honestly can't remember)
Get a PSU with at least 100w-200w more than the recommended for the GPU (6970 recommended is 550w)
So something like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371044
Or this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139021
(Note: I only had a quick look, so there could be better/cheaper ones on there. I'm not too familiar with the site, but I noticed most of you US people seem to always look on it)
Off-topic: I wish Australia had an online shop like Newegg :(

And you don't need to get a PSU with "100w-200w more than the recommended". I've said it in these forums before but the recommendations already come with huge excess compared to actual full load usage. Match your PSU to your actual usage.
QQ, someone had the hide to call my PSU suggestions silly.
(not saying who, someone on MabiWorld IRC)
And Sapphireoath; that was me. I stand by my statement.

You both are helping me, be happy with that!
