She's only 18? Why is she a mother?
The intruder was probably the babydaddy coming to see his baby.
Since when is there an age limit on when you can become a mother? There's nothing wrong with her being a mother at 18. That and no, the father died on Christmas day due to cancer. You really shouldn't make such assumptions on someone just based on their age.
That being said, I can understand why she did this. I would protect my child at all costs as well.

She had every right to shoot them, what do you think the intruders would've done once they found out she was home? Leave her and her baby alone? Ya ****ing right.

I know this is an iffy subject with some people. As there are many people against guns.
I'm just glad she wasn't one of those people against owning firearms. Otherwise, the news report would have been very different.

She protected her child, and even if it wasn't justified, I feel it should be, she only wanted to protect her child, as has been proven in nature time and time again, a true mother will protect her baby at any cost. Bless her and her child.

I love this woman. Not one, but two guns.
She did what she had to do and what she thought was right, and it was justified.

I know that if an irresponsible 18 year old was my babymama I'd come back from the grave with a knife to get the baby to safety. ;-;

How is the mother irresponsible? She PROTECTED the child from these random guys BREAKING IN to her house. The guys had a 12IN. HUNTING KNIFE??? She's fed the baby and took care of it, she hasn't thrown in onto the streets. O_o

I'm thinking the same thing. If this is irreponsible, then you obviously have a grudge against her just because she shot someone in self defense.
I feel this was justified as well. The law is too soft on burglars. God forbid they hurt themselves when they try to rob you. Next thing you know, they sue you. That right there isn't fair nor good justice.
I support what she did. She did what she needed to do to protect her baby.

Stop judging someone you don't know. How is she irresponsible? The baby is PERFECTLY safe with her. She protected her child. She is not irresponsible at all.

Castle doctrine is for savages and she is a savage. Simple. Giving a warning is the least she should avhe done. It's also pretty easy to incapacitate someone without a killing blow.
Savage all around.

While I don't support the death penalty (mainly because I think dying by LAW is absurd, regardless of the reasoning), I don't view this as savagery. I believe that people should handle situations like this. It's not like these people ended up at her house on accident. These people went in with ill intent and disrupted her life and sense of security. Is it punishable by death? If the person feels threatened or justified enough in doing so, then I believe the answer is yes. When someone goes out of their way to interfere with the lives of someone else, I believe a harsh punishment is acceptable. I'd also be for lighter/nonexistent laws against people who don't really harm others (drug users, etc). If they do something while on drugs... punish them for what they did, not for doing drugs. etc.

Age isn't really that important. It matters, but it's not the final decision maker.
