TERA Online for female characters:

So much Female Armor logic in this game. Less armor=more defense. I mean really:

In the cat's eyes. Having a loli character or hot chick in MMO automatically makes it a waifu simulator and negates any other aspects of the game.
nah
it is when the Japanese playerbase is full of female characters and lolis

Based on the CBT1 population, NA won't have as many elins running around. I'd say a good 40% of players went Castanic (skimpiest armor for females and males).
I wouldn't say it's like Vindi/DN because the open world is actually quite important. The cap was 22 in this beta and there were only 2 instances. Everything else was done overland. Also, BAMS are found in the fields and are a good chunk of the endgame content. Kumas, Basilisks and Nagas were all pretty popular targets for parties or solos with something to prove.
As for being grindy...In the three days it was up, all but two people in the guild I joined hit the lvl 22 cap. Most of us did it by day two. Save for a few brief moments at lower levels, there wasn't any grinding going on at all. The quest-line was also well-designed; there was a minimum amount of running from here to there. If it was far or had nothing on the way, either you or your target teleported in.
It seems the real focus is on the end-game. BAMs for PvE players and battlegrounds for the rest. In Korea, barely anyone pvped, but NA is shaping up to be different. I'm expecting some fierce competition over Vanarch positions and the like.

This really makes me want to play the game. :(

Juicy stuff
Can you take a pic of the lowest graphic settings for me compared to how you play?
-
Juno wrote on 2012-02-15 00:32
For the first beta, only the lowest graphic settings were available. It made the normally 30g download 17g instead.
Waiting for a party mate in an instance~

I'm tempted to pre-order this.

Is this a monthly fee thing? >.>

Yes.

Juno wrote on 2012-02-16 04:35
~$8.50 a month at 12 month sub, ~$13.60 for 1 month sub, if memory serves.
The game itself is ~$50.

$14 for 1 month o_o who da **** would buy that?
and oooooh I might be able to play. I shall wait for it to become F2P. It's inevitable
-
Chockeh wrote on 2012-02-16 12:06
I don't think it'll be F2P for quite a while. The business model still works.
-
RebeccaBlack wrote on 2012-02-16 20:30
Eventually, it won't work so well as more and more games are shifting to the F2P model. No game like Vindictus, TF2 or APB would ever have been F2P back in 2004. I've never played TF2 personally, but it's pretty hyped up.
Even if I do get it, I won't keep playing if I feel the game isn't at least as good as and possibly a bit better than any F2P option out there, otherwise I'm just wasting my money when I could be putting it into those games instead.
And it's not like pay2win won't exist in P2P games. Goldsellers etc.

Woot, I got close beta key :D
Edit: It seems that the key is for Europe :( I am in school right now and I can't access the website, will try later at home, but not sure if I can play on European server.
