Anonymous Goes on Megaupload Revenge Spree: DoJ, RIAA, and Universal Music All Offline
Anonymous has sure been quiet lately, but today's federal bust of Megaupload riled 'em up good: a retaliatory strike against DoJ.gov has left it completely dead.
DownForEveryoneOrJustMe.com is reporting the department's site as universally nuked, and an Anonymous-affiliated Twitter account is boasting success. This is almost certainly the result of a quickly-assembled DDoS attack.
Update: Anonymous says they've also knocked off the RIAA's site—looks down for us at the moment as well.
Update 2: Universal Music Group has also fallen off an e-cliff.

^Don't be stupid on the internet. The internet will get you back.
I'm sad about this, a bit, since I tend to stream anime, rather than download it, and a lot of the places tend to use megavideo. This is how I find the anime/other shows I'm willing to invest money in. Wonder how this will affect similar websites, too...

Sorry, not really sure what the complaint is. While Megaupload was great for getting free stuff, that's the problem. The fact that you were getting things that you should have payed for. How many of us have used megaupload for legitimate reasons? I know every time I've used it has been to download a movie, manga or anime.
Shutting down sites, like google, or youtube, that's would be the negative effect of SOPA/PIPA because these are legitimate sites that shouldn't have to regulate content violations.
Now don't get me wrong, SOPA/PIPA are horrible examples of legislation because of the broadness of sites it could effect. But steps should be taken to try to curb the amount of piracy that is rampant on the internet. Besides there's still bitTorrent.
Intellectual "Property" isn't really property

Despite "piracy", the music and film industries are still extremely lucrative.

Yea, most of the companies that are in support of SOPA/PIPA are actually doing very well profit wise. They just are generally greedy and make the argument that for every "illegal" download of a piece of content is a lost sale. Which can be used to illustrate massive profit losses which in reality is totally unrealistic because it's dumb to assume that everyone that takes the content would have bought it even if it wasn't available.
Anyway I understand how Megaupload can be used in a legal sense, and don't doubt that a lot of legitimate businesses have used it. It's just that the perception has been that megaupload has become a prime example of the pirating problem.

They are DMCA Compliant. There are no grounds for this.
The same could be done to ANY site. Youtube, Google, anywhere.

Just found out something scary, RFID chips planted in your Debit/Credit Cards, to track where you are constantly. I can upload a video showing that I removed mine, I was very skeptical at first but after seeing the chip in the card myself.. I was terrified.
And I don't want that BS where its for Blink for easy buying, the companies themselves {Visa, Discover, etc) banned Discovery Channel to let Mythbusters air an episode about the RFID chip.
Wdf, the more you find out what the government is doing behind your backs, the scarier it becomes, and you begin to realize that something must be done.
