It's amusing how they never even went ahead and asked Mei about the kindergarten issue, as well as the fact that they think that the dead person could come back incompletely.
They should also probably stop trying to kill Sakakibara and Mei, as it seems that anyone who tries to interfere with them dies rather soon after.
Well, the two themselves are close to death, what with their back stories and all. And the only reason why Mei hasn't solved everything herself is that she refuses to take the eyepatch off in public. :tea:

I can't wait to find out who the extra is..

I figured it was near the end. Especially with how everything went up to 11 in the last episode.

Wowow
So apparently the calamity ended that year but it's assumed that it'll happen each year after that because of the scene after credits

Of course. I don't think there's a permanent way to stop it. When they stopped it the first time, it kept going every year after that.
I honestly didn't expect her to be the extra, though. I didn't even realize that she was Mikami, lol. I guess that shows how much I actually pay attention to details. But I guess it makes sense... her not remembering, not really feeling right talking about it, they way her father was acting. I really thought it was going to be Akazawa. Maybe that was too obvious.
I dunno, it was good I guess.

I think there is a permanent way to remove the curse.
The curse exist because some people in the past "revived" the presence of someone who was dead.
To cancle it, for a year, people should create an entirely new existance that isn't based on a dead person and act as if it's always there.. Sadly for them, that year they cannot ignore someone in the class so they are bound to be the last victims of the curse.
Some might have though about doing that but... if fix the curse, they need to place themselves in a situation where many will die.. humans are too scared and value their life high so they will simply take a methode that will protect only themselves and leave the problem for the next generation..
Looks like the anime has the same ending from the manga.

If there is no real solution, then it's practically a daily life anime. Although a very crazy, fucked up one... this is something that's been on going for years, akin to a natural disaster according to the former teacher. It sounds like another thing that people have to deal with as one of life's tough choices if there is no solution, like the endless eight.
My question is, why would anyone still live there? I know that if something like that was going on in my town, I'd get out ASAP.

Wouldn't all they need to do is only have two classes, so no third class exists at all?

They explained that not many peopel outside the school knows.
Also they tried to make the head of the school remove a third class entirely but it failed. The head of the school is too old and doesn't understand very well what ish appening in his school <.<
Also they get enough studens each years to fill 6 class in that year.. To remove the possible "third" class, they need tro only accept 2 class worth of students..
To all honesty.. the school will not survive withotu a certain minimal amount of students...
