Am I the only one completely unfazed by the events in this series? I read the manga and watched the anime, but I found majority of the deaths laughable.

I think too much Gantz during my early years did something...

Lol, same. I was sort of indifferent. I didn't really feel like this was the sort of anime/manga that allows you to get close to characters, or at least care for them.
