  I was thinking more about US religious marriage though. I guess what Ron Paul meant was to stop producing marriage licenses or give people who have marriage license no special privilages and rights. I think he is over-simplifying the matter because there is the whole deal with inheritence and whatnot and who knows what. It's rather complex issue to make Marriage no different.

  There have been a lot of shady dealings uncovered with the global warming scientists forging data. His point about some of it being junk science is therefore not far from the truth.
  I don't disagree with global warming theories personally, but that's only because a cleaner environment helps everyone, regardless of global warming theories being correct or not. You shouldn't throw around distasteful insults like that--especially when intelligence is the conversation topic.

  Benefits is part of the key central argument on how marriage should be handled by the government
  either make it a custom open to everyone on the national level and receive all the benefits
  or trash it (via benefits) because not everyone has the same social opportunity
