Okay guys, can we turn this from a thread about the shortcomings of the staff and get back to wishing the two that stepped down a fond farewell and thank you for their services and time here? Even though I don't think TA meant it to be, the way I see it, it's probably just going to end up as people saying that they don't like the staff, and use it to increasingly get more and more dramatic to the point where I have to close the thread and have a headache (as well as considering handing in a 2 weeks notice myself). If you guys want to make a thread giving some suggestions on what the staff can do to better the community, and doing so without trying to knock a few pegs off staff members, you are welcome to make a thread in the Mabination Discussion section. And if you do have any discretion about individual staff members, remember to bring it up with either me or Chise, and not to do it publicly. But this thread isn't for that, so please, try to remember what this thread was for.

The Song of the Unsung Heroes is of a legacy that falls on heroes who are not remembered, either through anonymity or people not realizing what they have contributed before it is too late. Its pages are long and often it is the most tragic of all stories.
I will miss both of you as staff yet I will also wish you the best in what you do.
It is hard to do moderating when the community dislikes you for even tapping into your responsibility. It becomes that much more stressful when you're doing it for volunteer work rather than getting paid. On the flip side, I feel bad for Nexon, they are paid to do their job yet it consist of people who are never grateful for what they do. The community is rather strange.
Besides that point, I apologize to you two for any troubles I caused (which I am guilty of a few instances of "losing it") and hope that you two and I will get along as regular members. =)

Ah... sorry if I triggered that. I was just trying to fully explain the situation.
I guess we could make a new thread for discussing the community aspect. As for the staff side, I can PM you and Osay but... I can already tell ya, you two aren't gonna like it lol.

I know. I'm just scared to death of letting the community manage it because I feel like it might just make matters worse or split people up even more.
If magical perfect moderators don't pop up out of nowhere, it seems like Bean Rua would be the place to start. There's nothing wrong with the section itself, that's just where most of the regulars/opinionated people meet up, even if a lot of the arguing happens throughout the whole forum. I doubt many people will ever read threads like these, lol. I didn't even know this part of the forum existed until I saw one of my friends posting in it.
Oh, and I'm certainly not saying you (or anyone else) did a bad job. In fact, I think you were very kind and lenient. Understandably so, being that people were so douchey to you on multiple occasions and you didn't want to turn it into an "us vs them" thing.

Although I do agree, some people here are ridiculous.
Everyone has a little bit of it in them. Everyone.
Oh, and by the way, it's really hard to keep up with this all ;__; I'm writing a post and then 5 more people have written 3 paragraphs apiece, and now I have to catch up and try to respond to them, ahaha.

I didn't see Baku openly modding and don't really know much about him, but I'm really gonna miss having TA as a mod. I heard Baku did a great job too.

Indeed. But some people have a spectacularly obvious way of showing it.

Heh, yeah, I admit I'm one of the people. I'm not afraid to say what I think, but I don't go around insulting people or anything. I think it's good for people to be a little challenging. If we all thought the same, what would be the point in even talking?

True. I think some of the main problems are;
1. When people get into a heated argument, nobody knows when to stop. Seen it here plenty of times, even today.
2. Some people say really stupid (inappropriate, not in terms of swears though) shit and i'm amazed that people turn a blind eye.
3. People just seem kinda...lazy. Like, we're too lazy to be polite or something.
The worst part is, we all rub off on each other. Sometimes I respond with something stupid like "no you" because that's what everyone else is doing. We all need to learn from each other. I guess i'm more of the "stop having fun guys" kind of person, but a lot of us need to act a bit...smarter? Dunno exactly how to phrase it. But if only a few people act terribly in any way, we all start to act terribly.
Also, another thing I just thought of is not only the tone of our posts, but the content itself. Recently i've seen a lot of threads in BR that are honestly...basically just people bitching about their life, the same old shit they complain about bi-weekly or even daily. I'd prefer dumb spam threads over the 10th thread in a month about how my life sucks. The negative attitude brings everyone down.

GUILTY!
But seriously, just writing about it, calms me down. It's just a way of expressing ourselves/venting. Hell, you don't even have to read it.
Staff Changes... when were already short-staffed? Well, Baku and TA you will be missed as a moderator. Welcome to the normal nation member life now! Hope everything works out for you in the end.

Well, that's what a private blog is for...? \:D/
I mean, yeah, i'm not being forced to read it, but I also don't have to read to get the feeling that there's tons of negativity in BR. And there is.

It's not negativity towards particular members, plus some people's insight on my issues help me sort through em ya know?
And, I don't want a private blog.
Anyway, enough about me.

A forum I work on as a janitor has two off-topic boards, one for random everything threads and one where people can talk about their lives. People being people, the latter forum tends to end up being "omg my life sucks" a lot of the time... But this way, people who don't care don't have to see it.
In any case, I hope the two of you take some time to relax and enjoy the forums as regular members~

Yeah, I mean, I didn't name anyone, but you just happened to make another thread after I made my post so that's what came in mind.
But still, TL;DR: the whole idea that we all influence each other.

Thank you TA and Baku for all you have done. Personally I don't know how hard of a task it must've been but i know you two worked hard and I can't honestly thank you two enough. That goes for the active staff as well.

Thank you both for taking time from your busy lives to moderate the forum. I can understand how frustrating and stressful it can end up being with the constant arguments getting out of hand. ><
Good luck in pursuing other things in your spare time. Cx
