Fire Wand vs Lightning Wand ~?

  I know there's was recently a thread somewhat like this ,but mine is a bit different because I'm considering magic as a main form of attack with low (if not any) use of melee. Maybe a counter-attack, but that's all.
  
  I've already figured out that Ice fails. :lol:
  
  But I'm trying to figure out which wand I should make my main, because I'd be using that skill the most. So, which is most used?
  
  Also, for whichever is chosen, should I ego the regular wand, upgrade the regular wand, or upgrade the advanced wand?

  Lightning chain cast is nothing compared to firebolt's, with a lightning ego it'd force you to charge more than once at higher social levels
  
  Either go Phoenix for the 1.2 seconds for the bolt or the regular fire for +4 chaincasting :evil:
  
  If you have to make a wand ego, go with fire

  Wand ego = Fire. Absolutely no point in making a Lightning Wand ego.

  Spirit Lightning Wands are good for adding damage to Thunder, but at high Social levels they begin to auto-chain cast when Lightning Bolt is charged, ruining the efficiency and effectiveness of the best bolt spell.
  
  Spirit Fire Wands are excellent as they remove the MP consumption penalty on the best chain cast available, Firebolt.
  
  Spirit Ice Wands are next to worthless; an upgraded Crown Ice Wand gives better damage for Ice Spear, and chain casting Icebolt with a spirit wand will destroy the wand's durability in short order.

  Well, Firewand can get speed casting which makes Fireball take only 15seconds (This is 5Charge fireball only, No mods)

  Yeah, I am planning to make this a full-on mage, with the only melee skill Counter for magic-counter.

  Elf has less mana usage for ice spear, I think.
  
  But the bolts also cost more AP. Icebolt r9+, and all the ranks of the other bolts.

  Elves do use allot less mana on Ice spear and they have better stat growth with level up as well as having faster running speed and having the Hide ability. Trigger even said that if he could, he'd change his human into an elf.
  
  Humans have the advantage of also being good in the melee skills for later on Hybrids. And Humans have there best Int and Mana growth at age 17 and 18. So you could do a human mage build with free rb's. Where an elf's best growth is at ages 11 and 14, though they're still very close to a humans growth at age 17.

  If you're set on being a mage, this will not be a chaincast wand or bolt magic - it will be either Ice Spear or Thunder, or maybe Fireball.

  It's more of a fail to disregard Ice's advantages over Lightning while planning to make a mage.

  For those two reasons, I'll stick with human.
  I want free rebirths and less AP, the hide ability takes mana away, doesn't it?
  I don't think "The Running Speed" should be very important when concerning race.
  
  And also, for back up in case I run out of mana, I think I'll stick with human. xD Besides, I don't want 5 horus to go to waste.

  Well yeah, which is why I did a Lightningbolt vs Firebolt thing.

  My friend got me a Fire Wand. xD And I guess it isn't bad because of what you guys said.
  
  Now, the poll will be to the next vote for fire.
