I feel like it would be best for topics of a morally, ethically, religiously, or politically sensitive nature to be moved to Rua's house. As it's defined, users in Rua's house are expected to hold themselves to a respectable and mature standard, and I feel that mindset should be a necessity in such topics.
I also would really like for expired warnings and infractions to expire from profile setting pages as well. As I understand the point system, expired objects no longer count against a user. I don't see why they need to be constantly reminded that they once did something wrong in the past. (At the very least, I would like to see it moved down on the list, so it's not the first thing I see every time I want to change my avatar.)
This is certainly possible, but that may leave people that want to avoid some of the other topics in Rua's house out.
The infractions need to stay there for the staff's sake. Unfortunately, there are people that wait until they can offend again, so we need to see if they're repeated offenders. Moving them down seems like the better idea. I would hate having to stare at it, haha.
I would prefer topics on Religion being banned in general, simply because we have a lot of members here (myself included) who have very strong stances on Religion, and it's been shown various times that we can't really have a discussion about it without it turning into a huge fight.
Obviously it will come up at some point or another, but at-least preventing topics being made specifically about it ought to help some.
Politics is.. eh. I think it should be allowed because it's an important topic, especially in light of elections this year. Though those topics should be watched over carefully.
While we do like to prevent things, I don't think this is a step in the right direction. Yes, things are likely to get out of hand, but I think that's a step towards censorship that we may not want to take. It's bad timing to start something like that, in any case. All I can suggest for you is to stay out of those and let us regulate them according to the rules that are currently in place. If it's considered "out of hand" it's because there are rules being broken, anyway.
