  Well in a place like the USA, it's best to act as if all house has one. So the only risk the robber has is to fail the sneak attack. The victim doesn't know the day they will get robbed. The robber knows if there is someone or not. So he has the advantage in there. Inbetween 2 gun user, initiative or "first strike" is quite an advantage.

  Assuming the risk to be present everywhere in the US does not eliminate the risk. However, taking away guns from all the law-abiding citizens would make things much easier for criminals.

  well like I said before, it's too late in the USA since guns are just everywhere.
  
  But in place like Canada where anti-gun laws have been there for a long long time. Most robbers woudln't have access to guns either. So most of them can only use fake guns, makeshift replacement for gun or just melee based weapons. But most household have a fair amount of melee based weapons that can be used and even some house have makeshift replacement for guns.

  The main point a lot of you guys also overlook is that gun control is the first step towards a dictatorship. As if our country isn't controlling enough as it is.
  
  Take Cuba for example. It became a dictatorship shortly after Castro removed gun ownership rights.
  
  During WWII the Japanese didn't dare invade the US due to the fact that everyone in America had a gun and was armed making it very difficult for them to successfully invade.

  Religion in the USA is freedom of religion. Religion doesn't control the government and our everyday lives last I checked. I can about peacefully in my life/day without believing in religion and it doesn't control me. I don't know what you are smoking but it's far from the truth I assure you.
  
  Unlike places like Arab countries where the Islam controls the government and the way people go about their lives. Sharia law anyone?
  
  To be completely honest, the Catholics and Christians are completely tame in comparison to their Islamic counterparts when you look at modern history and what they do to rule breakers. Read up on a bit of Islam and you'll see exactly what I mean.
  
  But that's a different topic all together.
  
  tldr; Islams are worse than Catholics in terms of dictatorships.
