they definitely should make some changes to alchemy, but taking it away from Evie isn't one of them. it doesn't make sense for Evie to be the only char that can use these items if they're just premade kits that you buy from Brynn and the player does nothing but put it on the ground. mercury trap should be made throwable again since it's quite useless where you're standing, and Evie's pets should get more versatile, preferably programmable AIs.

Anyways i think vindictus should have a dedicated alchemy character, vindictus alchemy have great potential, but evie's alch is....meh, i wouldn't even mind if they remove evie's alch entirely for the new char, since people hardly use it and evie have enough attack power already. another idea is a character that can transform into a variety of beasts or even formors and use skills based on the current transformation. a summoner would be nice too, but seeing how the current golem AI is, that's probably not going to work
I was thinking a character who is dedicated to alchemy also. But when I try to picture this, I just see FMA or Mabi's version of alchemy.
Then I thought "summoner" or "beast tamer", but I'd feel the same as you do (Wonky AIs, probably not going to work). But it'd be cool to have a whip character, which is why I support them doing a beast tamer >:...
Another thought I could see is a character with chakrams. Xena: Warrior Princess anyone?
AND HER SECONDARY COULD BE:
Or hell, maybe it will be a bard? A bard would be cool ):...

Even though I'm playing EU, evidently resulting in said character not getting to us until Christmas 2013; I'd really like to see a 2H Greatsword warrior type character, like Keaghan, he's pretty freakin b'dass ~______~
I know we have Karok as a Zerker' and Fiona as a warrior, but Karok is a "BLUNT OBJECT HULK SMASH" type and Fiona obviously, a defensive warrior type, so it'd be nice to see a 2-handed sword-wielding DPS-centered warrior class.
Maybe make it female to balance out the M/F character ratio? I know that a 2h warrior female would look kind of silly to some people, but it's a Korean game, if it weren't crazy/silly enough, it'd never had been made there, it'd be some crappy westernized version.... Like XE .___.

I have an idea. Since Lann and Fiona are the knights, Evie and Kai are the rangers, and Karok is a brawler, we need a female brawler.

Or just Martial arts,
I mean Karok punches things but he's more of the Brute Forcer with it.
Though honestly, I'd prefer if DevCat balanced the current characters instead of adding a new one

Well, we know Wizet messed up with balancing Maplestory.
"Balance? OH! You mean add more characters!"

I don't know if balance is the right word. Balance would would imply making all the characters equal to each other, which in a since is a horrible idea much like balancing the characters around PvP. Certain characters will have advantages purely based on their combat mechanisms in certain situations eg. Ranged versus melee, tanks versus DPS etc. . I think a better point to argue would be improving the feasibility of the weakest characters by strengthening them. Both Lanns and Sword Fiona have less feasibility at end game than most of the other classes. Sword Lann is more survivable than spear but his overall DPS doesn't really hold up to the high risk high reward philosophy. Spear Lann can be powerful if you're very skilled at playing him. He has high DPS but I feel with the entrance of Cestus Karok and the buff of Hammer Fiona he's lost most of his viability as a damage dealer when both of those classes mentioned are far more survivable and can potentially out DPS him. Sword Fiona is kind of a mess right now because Hammer got a nice buff so a lot of the Fiona players have stopped complaining, but DPS is far too low for end game really. I feel the sword either needs higher percentiles or faster attacks to make her more defensive.
A lot of people are not going to like this I bet, but I'm thinking a new caster as the next character. More of a divine caster to Evie's arcane casting; a cleric to a wizard so to speak. I'm thinking a caster that wears heavy armor to begin with and has some minor melee potential to offset his lack of damage spells. Something like a one handed mace or a melee based staff. Most of his spells would come offensive de-buffs for bosses or areas and party buffs. And to give some solo viability, give him some sort of regeneration aura that works better out of combat. He could possibly have a some of his AoE de-buffs be damage dealing as well. Divine punishment or plagues or something like that. Or maybe some physical defensive spells like a wall of fire or maybe a holy shield that uses massive amounts of stamina over time to the point where you'd only be able to use a maybe 2-3 seconds max but could protect an area.
I know a lot of people say that adding a support class nobody would play it. But, I think you'd be surprised how many people you could get to play it if you could make it something fun. Just a thought since it seems like there's really no melee area left. We have our rogue (Lann), fighter(Fiona), barbarian(Karok), ranger(Kai) and spellsword(scythe Evie) so there isn't a really any melee style that hasn't been covered at least some. I'd personally like to see a dark mage or necromancer but I don't know how well you could make that fit. Especially a story about heroes and all.

Well, if you could find a way to add another magic class without it being OP or gamebreaking, sure, I wouldn't mind another equal magic user.
And support... Well, everyone always strives to be the best in damage, not much use for a support then.
