Enjoy your power, TA.
What the hell did I do..?
If you just want to slap a name on it and blame me for everything, then be my guest. But before you do that, you should go ahead and blame yourself.
We have an
entire section dedicated to community feedback, ideas, and suggestions. But if you'd rather just get your panties in a bunch and jump ship at the first sight of trouble rather than actually sticking around for the community that has been around for you for so long, then whatever. That's kind of a shitty attitude if you ask me.
If I felt like something was wrong, I would go post about it and try to get something changed. Someone that would just up and leave... well, that just shows that you don't really give a crap about this community. It has nothing to do with Administration - that's all on you.
Honestly... 7 brand new mods just thrown into it, with none of the old staff around to look to as examples (not that it would have done much good). What the hell did you expect to happen? Everyone to be precisely perfect from the first moment they get the job?
I don't know what kind of magical world you guys are living in, but modding forums is like anything else. When you're new at it, you're bound to screw up and make a few mistakes. Make a few calls that are too harsh, a few that are too soft. But eventually you learn.
There are 6 new mods right now. If you don't want to at least give them the courtesy of a bit of time to get everything down, then honestly, I can't respect that at all. It's like an insult to them, and an insult to this community.
I'm not singling you out here, this goes to everyone that's gotten in a hissy and decided on leaving recently. It needs to be said.
If you really feel you have problems that are so bad that you have to ditch this entire community, then if you really care about this community at all, you need to speak up and have your concerns heard and addressed.
Keep individuals and names out of it. Address the core issues themselves. It doesn't even matter if you just want to blame everything on a single person. Channel that frustration into constructive feedback that addresses actions, policies, behaviors, not people. Chances are, you don't have the slightest clue what's going on anyways because all you see is the surface and not behind the scenes, so trying to single someone out wouldn't do you any good anyways. Problems. Issues. These are what are addressable. People are not.
Rosters aren't going to change simply because you dislike someone. Actions, policies and behaviors, those have a very good chance of changing, if you have a good reason behind it.
Honestly though? God forbid a forum actually enforce the rules they have.
If we had rules but only selectively enforced them then it would only encourage favoritism because people would not be treated equally. Some things would be overlooked, while others would be blown out of proportion.
I don't even see what the big deal is. What, you guys really feel the need to insult one another to "joke around?" That's ridiculous.
If you have "fun" calling your friends names and insulting one another, then keep it off site. There are other ways to play around and have fun.
So Nancy can't make a thread about her friend Jim, telling him he's a douchebag. Big fucking deal.
Seriously.
You guys need to look at this shit objectively.
Where is the line drawn? What is considered an inside joke and not? If everyone is insulting one another as a joke, how do we know when it is really serious or not? You can point out one instance and try to make it your case, but you can't look at things in such a vacuum. Allow one instance, and you have to allow others. You don't know who are friends, and people you think are your friends may not be as good of friends as you think, and what you may say as joking around may genuinely offend them.
Honestly... not being able to insult one another... nothing of value was lost.
You don't need immature toilet humor at someone else's expense to have fun, and if you think you do, then something's terribly wrong.
Anyways... like I said, if you ever really gave two shits about this community, you'd go explain what you think needs changed and fix it for the better for everyone, not just selfishly abandon all of us. All that accomplishes is showing the rest of us that you didn't even care enough to try to fix this community rather than just take the easy route and abandon it.
And for your information, "my power" right now, that I am
oh so enjoying, as you seem to imagine, involves keeping track of 6 different moderator log threads, 6 different moderator logs (actual logs), all of the report threads, and compiling crap into meaningful advice and overviews.
Man, you'd better watch out... I might stare at some moderator logs a bit harder and chip a nail writing a review or something.
Damn, that would be tragic. That could ruin the forum, right then and there.
Honestly... I'm doing practically nothing right now. If you want to blame all of your problems on me, then go for it. I'm a great scapegoat. But you would be terribly mistaken, I'm afraid.
It's like I said. You have 6 brand spanking new mods. Of course there's going to be a rocky start, and beyond that, you're going from a long period with an extremely low level of rule enforcement, a period of leniency and laxness, to a period where our rules (which have always existed) are just more clearly defined so there's a full transparency of our rules that will be enforced.
If you want to be upset about something, make yourself useful and go complain and get some rules or policies changed. Just leaving doesn't help anyone.

Juno's the ultimate authority other than Osay but he would rather leave the enforcing up to the staff. TA mostly evaluates the staff and reports post and leaves the staff to deal with them to see what they do.
ATM it's
Osay-->Juno-->TA (Because she decides who in the staff stays or goes)-->Staff-->Members, in terms of power. Though soon it will be Osay-->Juno-->Members after all the staff are fully trained :D
You're........ very horrendously misinformed.
If it didn't dawn on you, when I use the phrases "We" and "Mabination Administration", I am not, in fact, referring to myself.
I may manage the Staff, and I may be the one who sends everyone their reviews and crap, but it's the entire Administration that makes calls like that.
As for the latter part of that, you shouldn't speak so matter-of-factly about something you haven't the slightest clue about.
