I actually kind of like DFO. Did the whole leap event thing. Still probably going to play on my first character instead, but it's nice to have a higher leveled character.

Kitae posted this earlier on in the thread. It was pretty helpful, especially the part about stacking quests.
Quote from Cucurbita;843554:
This morning I rolled a new mage and struck level 18 in one and a half hours.
Alternatively, some people who don't know what they're doing have been seen taking over 6 hours without taking a break in between.
Mage is probably the easiest class.
1. Only level Magic Missile, Shururu, and Library. Other spells are useless.
2. Stack cloth armor only. Your weapon should be whatever gives highest magic attack.
3. Equip your temporary free avatars. That mana boost is almost necessary.
4. Stack quests and clear them in order. Only focus on one dungeon at a time. This way you can grab 10 quests for a single dungeon, and clear all of them in a single run. If you do this right, you'll only need to do each dungeon 1~3 times. If you loosely spread out quests, it will take at least twice as long to reach level 18.
Otherwise you could roll a gunner too. Extremely easy. XXXXXXXX spam. Kill everything. Less DPS but if you can't handle the mage's low hp/mp pool early game then this might be better.

How is one class 'laggier' than the other?
I play on a netbook, and I don't lag at all...

Neither, that account you're playing on is not valid for the contest. I believe the conditions are:
- Must play at least 2 Nexon games or charged minimum 10k NX before the start of the event
- Has [UB]-NEVER-[/UB] played DFO before
Sadly this event has left all veteren DFO players bitter. Unless you have multiple accounts like some people and cheat the system by using MapleStory's MTS. <-- I can, but refuse to do this.

My head, it hurts <:U... Making a character and quitting it still counts as "playing". If you have "played" DFO before on that account, you're not eligible for the contest.

Lol, you're just completely misunderstanding what they're saying. They never played DFO before the event period. They just made a gunner, stopped playing the gunner, and made a mage. Taa-daa.

so do i have to go and get that gunner to level 18 to get the nx or can i continue with level 10 mage .-.

Pretty sure the rules just state that you have to get a character to 18. So I'd say it probably doesn't matter.

THANK YOU. That explains a lot. Also to answer the question. Any character will do if you've never played DFO before. You can make a bunch of characters on that account but only 1 has to hit the requirement.

Some people love dfo, some people hate dfo. Its the 2nd ranked mmorpg in Korea right now and a international esport in China, Korea, and Japan, if thats anything to go by.
For experienced players, leveling from 0~18 is fastest and easiest on a mage. For novices, I suggest fighters or gunners.
gunners are terrible at getting to level 18, goblins are too short for them, and mages are just mm spam till you run out of mp or your fingers fall off.
priests and fighters are still the easiest to get to 18 with.
