Touche, but dear god that damage...
And what's with everybody and Boss Bash-like skills?
Vindi is a game that they try to make look good, as that's one of it's major selling points. Cinematic attacks just attract people to them, I guess.
It's really only Karok and Kai who have them, and that already covers the majority of the bosses. Either it's large enough for Kai to climb onto it or small enough for Karok to pick up, with very few in between.
Also it should be faster if it's Hard mode. Hard mode apparently lowers boss HP, but I'm not sure if that's actually true. Regardless, there's no HP increase for sure, meaning that it's mostly irrelevant.

I was thinking more along the lines of increased statistics, like Defense.
I know for sure that Attack is increased on Hardmode.

Even if defence was boosted, Giant Spider only has ~2.9k defence base. It'd need to get about a 1/5 increase in order to even start chipping away at 13.3k attack.
I'm fairly certain that being on Hard does not boost enemy defence. It's only Hero where it gets silly.

The game is over when Kai comes out

Everyone and their mother will be playing one and there won't be any challenge left

Because stuff like that doesn't already exist in the game.
(might want to lower volume a bit)

Spear Lanns can do that to Lionotus too.

Don't worry, I'll stick to my Evies.
Probably... just gonna sit here... alone... (Unless they need a healer...) :imdead:

*doesn't care about which character is op* though I do love bows *drool* so I'll gladly take the bow using kai over my level 63 evie and 67 fiona

Yes but did you see what enhancement that weapon had? Pretty much any character becomes overpowered if they can get an end game weapon to +12 or greater. I know and evie with a +15 divine punishment raiders staff and she has over 15k mattk naked. My guild leader has 16k attk on his lann with just short of 8k defense, while never spending a dime of nx. I've also seen a Fiona that's pretty much immune to damage even without blocking. Stats don't really mean much in comparing classes. It's more about how much time, effort and/or money you have put into it.
I honestly think Kai isn't going that big of a deal. Since pretty much all his useful and powerful abilities use sp. It means he's probably going to suck at taking out trash mobs, since most kai will probably want to build up sp for the boss fights. Unless you plan to take out 7 royal army knights using his death of a thousand cuts approach kai won't be that great for dealing with large swarms of mobs or small numbers of elite non-boss mobs.
Besides, what is with all this doom and gloom over a character being powerful. Honestly it seems kind of stupid for people to complain about having better parties. I can't wait to see kai's help in getting annoying breaks like Irukul and making expensive break-offs cheaper and more accessible. Honestly if you're upset that someone might do better than you to the point where you'd rather your parties be less successful just so you can come in first, then you're just being childish. And if you have a real problem with kai's being overpowered, do like everyone else and man up and solo more.
Honestly, I think kai looks like a lot of fun to play. I like the idea of a very mobile ranged attacker. Even if he did practically no damage, I'd probably still play him.
It just comes down to the same thing in every mmo I've ever played. No matter what the devs do, you'll never make everyone happy. Someone will always complain, and someone will always feel entitled in this free to play game. I know nexon has a lot of faults, but still. It's not like you're paying 15 dollars a month to play this game. People complained that staff evie was overpowered, then they complain that karok was, now they're complaining that kai is. I'm sure people will complain that lann is after the rebalance that's coming out after kai.

Video description implies about 13K attack.

My point being. 13k attack isn't very hard to reach on all the melee's in the game so far with just a properly enhanced weapon. So it's not like kai has some sort of inherent class ability to boost his attack stat. Considering he used to sp abilities to kill the spider it isn't that outlandish. I imagine two fully charged stigma hammers could at least come close to killing the giant spider on an end game character (at least >14k attack). And I know and ice spear, firebolt, and blind arrow will kill the spider at end game, maybe less if you have a well-equipped character. I only have 13.8k mattk on my evie since my evie's only been higher than 62 for 3 weeks and I'm poor...

You're forgetting the key aspect about this.
There's a "cap" on attack, in that Your Attack - Boss Defence = 10,000 or less. If it's more than 10000, then you won't get any extra damage. Since Giant Spider only has around 3k Def, you've already capped your attack at 13k. End game bosses have around 6k-7k Def, so there is where having 14k+ attack will still give you an advantage.
In the end it's still what is essentially a "capped" attack against Giant Spider, which is what's important to remember. Capped attack + SP skills = quick kill.

May I point out that, if you remember, Korea made EVERYTHING in the game easier (bosses included) in their XE update. I'm assuming they haven't changed it, plus, the person in the vid is wearing Ingkells and most likely a +6 or more Ivory Bow, so in reality, the Giant Spider wouldn't last long anyways.
I find it annoying when people say Kai is OP, I don't think he is simply because he's a purely ranged character and the distance between him and a boss/mobs gives him enough time to do devastating damage. But, we'll just have to wait until he's released to see.

I don't think he's going to end up overpowered in the sense of doing too much damage when he attacks. The thing is, his range seems enormous and he can basically attack every single moment he's not being attacked, which cannot be said for any current class on mobile bosses like Lionotus and Irukul. He may very well be hitting 2-3x as often. With that said, we'll see how it turns out.

This is why evie is so overpowred atm.
Not really her damage %'s, but she can almost always dish out damage, while everyone else is forced to do that dodging thing. She can just stand at a small distance and spam her skills.
Kai is going to take that formula, and make it a lot worse.

... Pillar Karok?
Literally doesn't have to expend any extra stamina in order to perform a dodge mechanic. In fact, it takes him 0 stamina to avoid any attack (even some Fiona-unblockables).
