  And it would have worked too if the government hadn't robbed the bank itself for other things, introducing an unattached deficit to the system with no provision to make it up.
  
  They know full well that the lower class workers at least aren't going to willingly set aside money for retirement when they are counting pennies at the register now to make ends meet, so the government steps in to make sure that it gets properly handled. Except they did it wrong and now it's broken forever- too much money leaking out of other government programs, not enough coming in to keep it going.
  
  I completely agree with the original article. The older generations are so used to having everything that they expect us to take over the horribly overcomplicated and absurdly designed system they created, entirely at our expense with very little in return. Then they wonder why our generation is so upset about it.

  The majority of people on welfare I feel are abusing the system and live off of it, without really trying themselves to find a job. But maybe I'm wrong, and that there just isn't any jobs for them to find.
  
  However, I find that hard to believe. If they took a low end job waitressing or doing retail or I don't know....accepting low pay working on farms like immigrants do?
  
  Back to the subject at hand. While the older generation is being hypocritical about the situation, somebody has to step up to the plate and see reason. It's obvious that the adults aren't going to do that as they are full of greed, and don't want to give up anything.
  
  It's up to us younger generation to step up and take on the responsibility of the stupid older generation.
  
  Now if you excuse me, I must continue setting aside money to pay off my $30,000 in college debt. Canadian students should do the same. >.>
