A guy's in the process of translating Maji de Watashi ni Koishinasai!!, it's not fully tl'd but most of it has been finished and uploaded. Has hentai content though, otherwise from what I've read it's pretty good (Aside from the anime being subpar in comparison).

I was just about to suggest this. It's the one I'm currently on, and all of the main routes, except for one has been translated. The guy who's doing it has had his progress slow down due to work, but he's about. . .45-50% done with the 5th one. I highly recommend it to anyone, as long as you can handle hentai I guess.

Little Busters**
Saya No Uta*
Planetarian
Steins;Gate
Well those four are my priority list. Katawa Shoujo** was good but the ones I mentioned were by far much more enjoyable to me. If you guys liked KS, try out deIz*, an indie visual novel made by the guy who did the animations for KS. Its pretty good, but the lack of a soundtrack makes it a little uninviting.
Other games that aren't exactly a visual novel but can actually be subclassified as one, that I really enjoyed, were Monmusu Quest* and Kamidori Alchemy Meister*.
Clannad** is supposedly very good, but I can't get into it.
Fate/Stay Night* is next on my list since its supposedly godly.
Just go to vndb and check them in order of rating and popularity.
*these games include adult themes
**these games have an adult version and a safe version

Storywise, Kamidori Alchemy Meister was god awful, but I guess the gameplay was good
Saya No Uta was creepy but in a good way, it was interesting
I have Steins Gate but I haven't started it yet, not sure if it was good or not
Planetarian . . . That poor . . .D:

Kamidori did have a pretty B rate plot, but I freaking loved the gameplay.
Saya No Uta is my personal favorite VN, but thats because it tickled my fancy in all the right directions, and some people would probably be disturbed by it :D
A lot of people discount it as a loli monster show but theres a lot of meaning behind everything Saya does, you just have to put a bit of information together.
I think Corpse Party counts as a visual novel...

Here's my list of favourite ones:
1. Muv-Luv Alternative (Note you should read Muv-Luv Extra/Ultimate before Alternative)
2. Clannad
3. G-senjou no Maou
4. Katawa Shoujo
5. Fate/stay night
6. ef - a fairy tale of the two.
Only Clannad is all ages though.

Fate/Stay Night and Clannad were good enough that I bought the Anime series based on them ^_^
But you should try Muv-Luv Alternative, it's just on a entirely different level than the others.

I recommend Type-moon's games, they're all high quality, doesn't focus on H-scenes, and is just plain awesome!
Fate Stay Night
Fate/Hollow Ataraxia
Tsukihime (Lunar Princess)
Mahoutsukai no Yoru (Night of the Witch)
I hear Steins;Gate is really good! I have it downloaded, but I don't have enough time to play it.

Heck yes to all of those. I still haven't read the sequel to Tsukihime yet nor have I read Mahoutsukai no Yoru. I hear only the English demo is out for it.
