I’m hearing in the NA community that there is some concern that Kai will be too weak when he gets nerfed with the Ignition patch when it hits NA.
So I was like [insert 'not-sure-if-serious' pic here]
So here is a screenshot of a Keaghan run I did with my 13k Kai:

You can see here that I did 4.5% less damage than the 19k lv 39 DK staff and also beat a another staff and a hammer with EP 9.5 weapons. Before you ask.
- I asked around again on Keaghan’s defense and I heard that the damage limit for his second phase is around 16-17k. Besides, there’s also the 300 extra damage that ignores the limit plus other benefits of high stats. [look at all that attack speed and crit]
- Yes this is a battle that favors Kai’s long range even more than others but is also so for staff albeit being a smaller advantage.
- The battle ended before 10 minutes has passed from entering the map so that means none of the highly geared members were not pulling their weight.
- And since this run was done today, yes this is after the ignition ’nerf’.
What has changed after ignition is that now you actually have to understand Kai’s playstyle to be efficient and just mindless spam firing will no longer guarantee you first place in damage.
Before Ignition Kai used to have superior damage even in mindless DPS situations [glas ballistas anyone?] and this damage was barely hindered in other combat situations due to his range and firing-based damage mechanism [in comparison to a smash combo mechanism].
After Ignition Kai’s damage is now evened out in mindless DPS situations but since his range and firing mechanism still stands he is still OP in proper combat situations. It’s just that now some level of skill aptitude is required to benefit from this OPness.
