I'm kinda happy about this in a vengeful way. I hated them ever since they became all paranoid and removed mature mangas, along with their respecting of copyrights and respecting of scanlators "do not host our manga" wishes.
If you're hosting manga then you're breaking the rules anyways, don't choose which ones to follow by respecting copyright for certain mangas and not others. Scanlators are also breaking the law so you don't need to respect anything when they say not to host it.
Pisses me off and now I'm glad they're shutting down. Haven't used them in months so my manga reading isn't affected.

Mangahelpers were first as well. letsee.... I only have a grand total of three sites to read manga now? And one of them I really hate for no particular reason. Whoo.
By the way, Osay, onemanga's "Mature" manga was thrown onto 1000manga, wasn't it?

Onemanga wasn't my main site, but, it sucks that a popular site like them are going down. Now a wave of sites shutting down is imminent. Mangatoshokan will be the site I miss. That site was all kinds of awesome.
There will always be ways to get manga online though of course. now it's just not readily accessible. My main concern with these sites shutting down is now manga that hasn't/won't be getting translated into official English volumes will now be less accessible. It's sad, since there are some really good titles out there.

Yep, I remember wanting to read a recent chapter of Future Diary and I was redirected to that site.
I personally didn't see that as much of a problem ... I just had to click another link :XD:
Such a shame though. I'm not an avid manga reader, but I always used onemanga.
I suppose I just have to go to another site if I ever want to read stuff now.

Meh I never really liked OneManga....when I used to read manga.
I preffered MangaFox Because their Translations of 666 Satans/ O-Parts Hunter we'rent terrible.
But yeah I agreed with Osay on how stupid it was they took manga down even though they we're already breaking rules by having manga up.
I wanted to read 3x3 Eyes but could I? No because they took it down. =/ Also I thought the design was horrible =P

Onemanga put scanlators into a similar position that Itchy did at Mabiguru. Scanlators did all the work of translating, editing, and QCing. Then Onemanga comes along, throws the scanlator's work online, and bathes in the ad-money.
$9000 of ad-money a day, to be more accurate.
Scanlators do all their work for free, without making any profit.
They do everything for the fans, pretty much.
Onemanga creates a middleman between the scanlators and the fans, then profits off of this.
I'm happy that they're closing down.

I never read manga on onemanga so I don't care about them closing down.

I actually really loved this site.
It was E/Z to use, especially for mobile devices.
Guess I'll go back to MangaFox once it closes down, but it'll be hard to track down the chapters I missed.
I sometimes just skip 3-4 days of updating just to read it all later.
