I see these 'bullies', and then I see nice people like Hiccup getting banned. :/
If you see these "bullies", report it. Hiccup was banned and he knows why, he doesn't have a grudge against us or a problem so you shouldn't make one out of it.

And for what reason could someone nice like him possibly have been banned?

Take it up with a mod in private chat, please.

because he does dumb things all the time
i'm probably complicit in all of this but since I was gone for school and come back to some really obnoxious/rude people being banned, i'm grateful.

No one is banned without very good reasons. Heck, some people have reported themselves because they just had to get something out and were still fully aware and accepting of the consequences.

Pretty sure it's none your business unless Brad feels like it's okay for people to know why he was banned.
Heck, he was probably banned just so he could get away from the site for awhile and focus or school/work! :)

The point is, the ones causing trouble should be the focus of the moderation team, not the ones that are slightly annoying to only a few people.

you underestimate the staff :l
we used to have many many paged discussions about one person. doesn't really matter which person, there were a few of those. my god they were a pain to deal with.

new unkown members do something bad and get banned too.
The popular people just get noticed more since people actually care.
If you saw how many second, third, fourth, fifth... (and so on) chances some of these people who you (and others) think shouldn't be banned got you would facepalm and then go yell at them yourself.

I'm pretty sure you don't have the full picture, if you can say that. Some people just aren't what you think. We focus on anyone that causes trouble, from "slightly annoying" to ban-worthy.
People that are popular aren't necessarily rule-followers.

Although I don't have any issues with anyone, I think that the ignore button should be used more.
I don't see it as a last resort if it is necessary for the person, and they have problems controlling their reactions to unwanted behavior(which a lot of people online seem to have).
It's really similar to real life, for example at a work setting. If someone is being rude to me, I will simply not talk to them, because they are not worth my personal time. Reacting negatively towards them and acting rude back to them would only make me look like the bad one, give them their desired attention, and possibly get me fired.
If they are endangering my safety, or a danger to others, THEN that is when I will tell a staff member.
Otherwise, until they show they are bothering multiple people, I simply consider it a personal argument that needs to be kept personal.

Either I'm ignorant or I simply don't browse these forums enough because I haven't seen all the chaos you guys are talking about :/ Well as long as it gets cleaned up and order is restored, that's all that matters really.

It's basically a group of people jumping on a member because they don't like said member. If you don't see it, then better. It means it's getting cleaned up in a timely fashion. It hasn't been too terrible since one of the more recent incidents.
